Jack loves his play gym and going for walks and sometimes we read together if he's not being his super wiggly self. I feel like he needs new things to do. What do you do with LO?
While shes awake she lays and we talk....or she is in the swing... or on her mat. It's been a bit chilly here for walks so thats a bummer. I mostly just chat with her and giggle and make faces at her, different voice tones and words. Seems to stimulate her. She grunts and wiggles and occasionally coes.....no real smiles yet.
LO likes tummy time trying to climb up MY tummy. We don't have a fancy play mat yet, so we use funny faces (try to get him to imitate), mirrors (but he mostly looks at me, not himself), some noise books, and some cause and effect toys (he bats them and they move and make noise)
My guy is only 2 1/2 weeks old, so mostly I smooch his face and neck and he tries to grunt and wiggle away from me lol. Other than that I tell him about the world (we get into deep stuff yo!) I'll probably get him a play mat for Christmas, maybe sooner if I think he would really enjoy one
It's too hot for walks here right now but that's what we would do a lot of at first. I read him books, play piano for him, lay him on his activity mat, put music on and sing to him, bounce him on the exercise ball, tummy time.
I talk to her and make faces at her, trying to get her to mimic. I got some high contrast infant books that I show her and she will stare at those (Hello, Bugs and Look Look). we go on walks, which she normally sleeps through. I have not been good about tummy the since she hates it so much, but I have been trying to be better about it. DH has been reading her the Illiad, and telling her all about space and the planets and satellites and spacecraft. when she is laying down I move her legs and arms about.
We read books, go for tours around the house or block, I bend my knees and prop her on my thighs to talk to her, make faces and "dance" with her hands, tickle her tummy... She also does tiny time on my chest or a blanket and I lay down with her chatting about whatever. She likes to watch big brother build and destroy Legos!
DD is almost 6 weeks. I read to her, play a variety of music (everything from lullabies to classic rock), and show her toys. She likes toys that have black and white contrast as well as her octopus (she holds onto his legs). We go for walks around the neighborhood and she loves to dance (kick her legs and shake her arms).
