Stay at Home Moms

I have a bragplaint.

I actually don't I just wanted you to open this post. Muahahahaha. :))

So seriously, how long do you give to adapt to a medications lousy side effects? I've been on this new migraine med for 10 days and have horrible insomnia from it and feel like crap all day. Before you all say in unison "call your doctor" the last time he did he put the ball in my court and said its up to you whether you feel bad enough to discontinue the med.

Re: I have a bragplaint.

  • You need new doctors :0P It should say in the med info how long it can take to adjust? Some meds a week or two..some meds can take up to a month.

Didn't think of that. Will check that out. Thanks!

    *dopamax

Yes!! I was at the doctors today filling out paperwork and wrote my date of birth instead of today's date. Lol. It's just the worst. I did great on it the first time on it in my early 20s. Not so much not.

    your two posts combined...

I went to dr for headaches 3w PP. Told me "you're fat , stop BFing and take these weightloss pills," and gave me dopamax RX.

But I had taken it when I was 15 for migraines. I had to go on independent studies because I could not function at school. Stuff is nasty.

Your doctor sounds like a douche canoe. Did you find any med that helped without the side effects?

Its easier for me to treat them as they come than to treat to prevent + treating side effects.

What do you do when you feel one coming on? There's a rescue med that works well for me but knocks me the fuck out. Solely by dumb luck I've been able to call my mom and she's been able to take the kids for a few hours but I'd really want to prevent them as my mom works pt/dh started a new job not too long ago. I've started supplements and going to a chiro (aka the skinny shamer, haha)--has there been a non drug semi successful preventative for you?

  • I would ask the pharmacist about the usual adjustment period. IME they are a lot more helpful about meds.

  • I say 2 weeks for significant side effects to wear off and 6 weeks to fully adjust.

I switched from Zoloft to Cymbalta and I had the yawns so bad.  Literally for 2 weeks I was yawning constantly.
To my boys:  I will love you for you Not for what you have done or what you will become I will love you for you I will give you the love The love that you never knew
  • I'm not patient so I usually just get off them if it's not affecting me in a good way.  The doc gave me an antibiotic for sinus infection that gave me insomnia so I stopped taking it and asked for something different.  BC Pills give me low sex drive and vaginal dryness - got off it and everything went back to normal.  Hopefully it gets better for you.

It wasn't even a real fucking doctor? And there is only one chiro in your whole town? They are a dime a dozen. Shockingly your lie gets more holes.

He has an md as well, so yes chiros with a md aren't a dime a dozen. Also a shitty chiro can cause permanent damage so yeah, not risking my health in switching,
