What do y'all think of Ari versus Ori? DH is on board with Ari, but I'm having second thoughts. Both Ari and Ori fall in the Biblical/Hebrew camp, which is a must. I love that they are short, two syllable and nickname proof. We live in the South, so neither will be common. Ari will be more identifiable, but I'm concerned about southern pronunciation of it. Basically, I don't want the "Ar" sound over emphasized. I think I like the stronger pronunciation of Ori, but I am concerned it's too uncommon. Thoughts? Other suggestions?

However, do be aware that people will make a nickname out of ANY name. We tried for a nickname-proof name as well (Luke! So short, how could they make a nickname out of it!)...and people STILL call him Luke-y. Ugh. So, just be aware that there is unfortunately no such thing as a nickname proof name.
I don't love Ari, but it gets my vote
ETA: ah, behind the name says masculine and feminine: https://www.behindthename.com/name/ori
Are you ok with that?
