April 2014 Moms

Any 5 month or older not rolling yet?

Seems every babe I know has advanced to rolling well before mine. I know every baby is different. My guy turns to his side but really shows no interest in completing the roll. Anyone else? He is 5 1/2 months.

Re: Any 5 month or older not rolling yet?

  • DS rolls from belly to back, but cannot roll back to belly yet. He can get to his side though. I wouldn't worry. Every baby is different.

  • My LO will roll occasionally front to back or back to front, but I wouldn't say he has mastered rolling. He also does the half way roll a lot. He gets half way and then just gets stuck on his arm.

DS has no interest. He will go belly to back.

He does try to sit up so there's strength happening there. I'm not too worried but just keeping an eye on it.

Whoops I'm in April! Duh. Lol sorry ladies.
  • This makes me feel so much better. LO has rolled back to front a handful of times and gets super close multiple times a day but her arm gets stuck. She has no interest in rolling front to back even though she pushes up and totally could. Glad we aren't alone

DD was the same. This LO rolls belly to back awake, but can't do it asleep. And can roll back to belly asleep but not awake. It's SUPER annoying at night!!!!

  • My DD can go back to tummy and has done tummy to back once like at 2 months but can't figure it out again.

  • LO will be 5 months on Saturday.  He has been rolling from his back to his belly for awhile now but has yet to master belly to back.  He pushes his butt up and tries to be he leaves his arm out which keeps him from rolling all the way over.

  • Just the past week she has been rolling right onto her belly the second you lay her down. Half the time she will roll back onto her back, then back over, and this will continue over and over while screaming the entire time as if she has no control over what is happening.

This is hilarious. "Why does this keep happening to me!!!" Lol
  • Well this makes me Feel a bit better, however he doesn't roll at all either way. I'm sure he will do it soon enough.
  • My son didn't roll till 8 months , my dd start at 4 months and 1week
  • No rolling over here.. Doesn't seem interested in it either. He will roll to his side but that's it. He's rolled from belly to back 3 times in his life but I'm pretty sure they were just flukes. I'm sort of ok with him not rolling yet.

  • DD loves rolling on to her side and occasionally overshoots and rolls all the way over. Then she gets super upset and freaks out.

  • Mine rolled once both ways but hasn't done it since. He'd much rather sit and stand.

  • Chase rolls back to belly constantly but only rolled belly to back once. I can't wait til he figures it out because he gets so pissed. He has mommas quick temper for sure.
  • My twins girls are 5.5 months. One of them just started rolling this week. The other has no interest in rolling and still doesn't lift her head during tummy time.
