Nipple blister - bleb?

I have two white spots on my nipple and it's very painful to feed on that side (think razors). I also have clogged ducts (same side) that I've been working on with heat & massage. Just noticed the blisters... Any advice? Is this a "go to the doctor" kind of situation? Thank you!!!

If any thing the doctor could give you a referral to an IBCLC? White spots like little curds or actual blisters? Sounds so painful.

They are raised, milk coloured blisters right on the end of the nip. They hurt to touch!

Edit: thank you for posting that :). Now if I could only get mister to nurse on that side!

Edit 2: and now it's bleeding? Wtf?!

  • Look up milk blisters on kellymom. I know they have tips on what to do because I had one earlier and had to look it up. I think you want to apply hear right to that spot immediately before nursing. You can also try to squeeze it to pop it like you would a pimple but make sure you apply heat first.

You can also wear shells while your nipples are still sensitive and apply bacitracin if there is any broken skin. As long as you don't apply right before LO nurses you don't have to wipe it before BFing.
