I'm sorry I'm late posting this. How is everyone? So far we've put away most of our goal. We've had a few things around the farm that needed extra attention but luckily we were able to do most of the work ourselves.
Can someone point me in the directions of an explanation of this challenge? Sounds like something I would want to take part in - especially since we are primarily a one income family now!

This month is going to be AWFUL in terms of saving. In fact...I wish I didn't feel like I should throw in the towel but I should just give up on the rest of this year. We have to start getting stuff for DD's first birthday, then it's my birthday, then DH's birthday, and our anniversary, and Christmas...

My bank accounts need a xanax. As do I.
Don't give up! You can do it! Even if you just get into the habit of putting away a dollar a week or something it's the habit not the amount that matters. You've already come such a long way. You're doing great just by trying. Don't beat yourself up.
I have done way better on food spending, but we just put in all new windows and storm doors this week, so extra savings are pretty much out the window.
Pun fully intended.
However, all of this as well as a new wood stove insert/fan will increase our efficiency for heating bills this winter.
Last year's 10k on doors and windows was not fun. It really does make a huge difference though. My wood stove is sexy. Mostly because DH looks hot when he's chopping wood and he has a face full of scruff. Also being able to tell the power company to go fuck themselves with their $400 heating bills is pretty arousing too.
Very proud that I resisted spending any of the $20 I just made. Dd was being super fussy and I knew she was hungry and I was soooo tempted to stop somewhere. Luckily I found a stray apple in my bag & fed her that. And the $20 is going in our mini vacation fund for next month :-)

Yay!!! If anyone deserves a vaction it's you.
Thanks love! We have been planning for this weekend since last year. I can't wait.
