So my mom has been looking at cloth diapers online (so sweet) and she found the Charlie Bananna ones online at Target. Anyone have any experience with them? Pros/Cons?
I'm looking at GMD Workhouse for the NB stage at least...
I disliked mine and sold them. I replaced them with much cheaper kawaiis and alvas. I like the alvas and love the kawaiis. The CB have the adjustable elastic in the legs instead of the rise snaps. It can be a pain to adjust, but you can get a more custom fit. They seemed to fit a little earlier than most OS pockets. We used them when my son was around 4-5 months I think. They leaked a lot. During the daythey seemed to wick out the legs, and at night when they were really saturated they would leak THROUGH the PUL. I thought I was doing something wrong, but then I got some kawaiis and they didn't leak like the CBs did.
Most of my stash is CBs. They've worked great for us these past 2 years, although not for ON. (DS1 wets too much for pockets at night.) I think the elastics may need to be replaced in a bit, but I don't have a huge stash so they get used a lot.
I'm with MrsHudson. I had one that I tried out and had leaking issues like she described as well. My oldest is a heavy wetter so maybe they just aren't good for heavy wetters. I also thought the bra-strap like adjustment was odd, or at least tedious.
Not my favorite for sure, but it doesn't hurt to try one out. Maybe you'll love them!
Also, workhorses are awesome. You should definitely get some :-)

I have a friend that swears by them so about a year ago when Target had them all on clearance I was able to pick up a box of 6 for $25 (score!). I used them for a while, and they were fine but I didn't love them. Mine had a defect (probably why they were clearance) that the elastic got sucked into the leg after every wash. I would have to manually pull the elastic out of the leg after each wash. After about 6 months the elastic snapped on 3 of the dipes. I was able to get CB to replace those three under warranty.
Other than that the same as PP said they are not good for heavy wetters. Now that my son is over 2 and wetting more I add a hemp insert to the normal one and it usually gets us two hours. They also seem small, but my kids are tiny anyway so I never had a problem with that.

I was going to post that I literally did not know one single person who used CBs.
Hahaha! Yes, we've got more CBs than anything else. I had a gazillion Target gift cards, so I used them to buy 2 6-packs of them.
OP - I forgot to mention that I have been using both inserts in N's diapers since he was probably about 6 or 8 months old. He can wear them like this for 3-4 hours without any leaks. Also, just so you know CBs are more narrow in the crotch than a lot of other diapers, so stuffing with a prefold or some wide inserts is a pain.
We use mostly Charlie Banana, as I also got them on sale when they were sold on Target shelves. Used them daily for 14 months, and they are beginning to show wear, but nothing major. Adjusting the leg elastic is a chore, and I've found they aren't great for overnight. Bottom line is that they are good diapers, but there are better ones out there! Bumgenius 4.0's are my favorite. I've used a handful of them for the same length of time as CB's, and the Bumgenius still look brand new. I believe they retail for the same price per diaper.
I have a set in regular rotation and like them. They fit my lean baby long before any other OS and still for well so far. I also got the defective clearance ones where the elastic slides back in which is my one complaint. They should have pulled those and fixed or replaced. The bra style adjustment is tedious, but infrequent. I actually did some last night and was thinking i might try the fuzzibunz instead since they have the button adjustment but are otherwise similar.
No leak issues here, but my lo tends to pee frequently rather than a ton at once. Also agree they aren't an ON diaper.
Oh, one other complaint. I dislike the front opening pocket. DC tends to use the front to wipe him after poops and the poop ends up IN the pocket. That's not fun to clean out! But I consider that a failure to follow my requests as much as a diaper complaint
