My SIL gave birth to a boy 13 days before my LO was born. He's just over 6 months now and his testicles have yet to descend. His pediatrician is having them set up an appointment with a urologist to see what they say. I was just wondering if anyone has experience with this. Everything I've read says surgery is usually the way to go at this point. Yikes. I'm worried about the little guy.

The doc checks him at every appointment. As long as I see them both down from time-to-time the doc isn't worried. But if I don't see them between visits then the doctor would be concerned.
I have no experience with undescended testicles.
**funny side note; I typed 'undescended testicle' and it auto corrected to 'under ended theatricals'.
Hope you friend's DS can avoid surgery.
@babycaps I've never heard of hydrocele before, but huge balls definitely sound interesting to find on a teeny baby. Thanks for reassuring me on the surgery. I'm sure they'll worry less if they know it's a standard procedure. I thought the whole thing was pretty rare, but from what all you ladies are saying, it's not that rare.
@SurpriseAt39 autocorrect screws me over all the time!!!
