Parenting Fail (funny)

My friend just called me and said I just commited a parenting fail. She proceeded to tell me her daughter (17 months) threw up on her. Ok i thought thats normal right? How she reaponded however was not, she threw up on her daughter! I couldnt help but laugh. Any STM have any funny stories they would like to share? Surely she isnt the only one right?

  • Oh my hahah
  • Haha...gross. I've definitely had to catch throw up in my hands...and clean turds out of the bath water...and somehow managed to resist the urge to throw up. Can't think of any of my parent fails off the top of my heads. I'm sure there has been plenty. If I think of any, I'll come back to post :)
  • Wow I thought my gag reflex was bad!

My Cousin's DD literally had surgery because of her projectile vomit. I forget the medical reason she had the PV, but it was not pretty! You would walk into there house and there would be plastic all around the table and high chair, she also had to wear a poncho to feed her.
  • Something like that happened to me too!!! When my son was about 2 he threw up on his lap, in his car seat!! The only way for me to take him out was to dig my hands in the vomit to unlatch him! I then proceeded to throw up next to my daughter who was standing outside the car! Then SHE started to throw up!!! It was something out of family guy!!!
  • Yea - cleaning turds out of the tub just sucks.

Another gross thing that happened was we were giving kisses and she leaned in (I was laughing - mouth open) and she sneezed right in there.  Still gives me chills thinking about it!

  • This is where I can say that I'm a nurse and have virtually no gag reflex in the face of bodily fluids. And gloves. This makes me add gloves to the list of essential parenting gear. Because a little vomit (or other stuff) on my clothes is one thing, but digging my hands through it may cause an adverse reaction!
  • Hahaha! That will probably be me!
Someone throws up, I throw up. It sucks!

I'm sorry, but that is completely hilarious!

eta: I locked my keys in the car-with P in it- at the park where we went to meet a new possible babysitter. I had to call 911 and a fire truck showed up at the park to pop my door open. He was 100% fine. I was mortified.

  • I don't have any experiences but this is the only thing that has made me laugh out loud today.

All of these stories are hilarious to me.

I am also a toddler when it comes to gross humor- it's just so funny to me. :)

Thanks ladies for the laughs!! :)
  • Lol you guys are awesome, i have a horrible gag reflex myself. The babys father told me he was holding his son up in the air and he puked in his mouth. I lost my dinner just at the thought of it! Im not so sure about that old saying "its different when its yours".
  • My husband is one of those lucky dad's who get to experience baby vomit in the mouth. Only my son was about 7 months old & eating solids so I hear it was super awesome...
