Some people

I had a coworker today come up to me and ask me when I am due. Not so bad I guess but it's awfully rude to assume someone is pregnant (I'm not even 9 weeks and right now just look a little bloated) but haven't told any coworkers yet. What really gets my goat is we are both teachers and she said it in front of one of my students. I just glared at her until she walked away. Boo just needed to rant.

Re: Some people

  • So glad you gave her the death stare!

  • wow that's rude!  i guess unless you had told a bunch of people and she had just heard about it through the grapevine.  but still.  even if i KNOW a customer coming through my line is pregnant, i never, ever comment on it.

  • Mim a teacher too and sometimes other teachers make our lives so difficult! My aid asked me two weeks ago it threw me off and couldn't continue what I was doing. Sorry that happened because students always seem to have big ears
  • There's always someone who's a jerk and does that before you want them to. What was your reaction?!? Did you admit or deny? Last pregnancy the person who I work with that I hate the MOST did that to me in the caf. I was about 13 weeks and still didn't tell anyone and I know he did it on purpose. I told him to stop being like a high school chick and spread rumors that aren't true. Next day I told everyone lol.

  • Unbelievably rude AND unbelievably stupid! What kind of reaction do they expect? We are feeling crappy, bloated, and if you are like me, slightly bitchy right now. Oh, yes, thank you so much for pointing out I look fluffy. I'm more than happy to share with you. That's why I never mentioned it.

  • I didn't comment. Just glared. It's really none of her business to confirm or deny especially since no one knows so there was no hearing it through the grapevine. Just rudeness and we've only known each other a month. I'm just leaving it at that. Hopefully she just feels stupid now.
  • Bring a congratulations- it's a boy- balloon with you and give her a big hug
