Came out of lurker mode to share this article: an etiquette "expert" says it is in fact perfectly acceptable to have a baby shower for a 2nd or 3rd baby. I have to say I was surprised by her reasoning that every baby deserves to be celebrated and new and improved baby products may have come out since the last pregnancy. Klassy! She must not frequent this board.

Oh, well that makes sense. I clicked on it through Huffington Post, so I thought it was an actual etiquette expert.

Eta: just went back to the article and right at the top it says she is from the registry.com website. Geesh. I should have just stayed in lurker mode.

  • I don't care if Emily Post and Dear Abby come back from the dead and tell us second showers are ok, they're still tacky as hell.

Emily Post is turning in her grave thinking about all the bullshit her granddaughter spouts off as "etiquette."
  • This is complete BS. I want to punch her in the face.
