I'm 6w4d and at this work conference trying not to blow my cover. Of course our CEO wants to take us to his fancy ass place for dinner and orders bottles of wine. Anyway I could get away with a small glass or should I not even risk it? Thanks!
You could always just say you're currently on antibiotics and can't drink alcohol right now.

I wouldn't risk it. I think the recommendation is once you're in 2nd tri. You could always have them pour you a glass, then take off to the bathroom and exchange it for grape (or white grape, depending on if you're "drinking" red or white) in the bathroom. I just had to do this at my sisters house the other night and worked flawlessly.

You could just abstain. If it's a work conference/dinner then I have a feeling people will respect your decision and not ask you why you're not drinking.
I was at the redskins game yesterday and there were a lot of friends there that I didn't want to know. I made a Bloody Mary when no one was around, which was actually a Virgin Mary, and sipped on it for a few hours. No one said anything I was so relieved! I drink so they would have noticed and hounded me on if I was pregnant or not. For you, I would take the antibiotics route at a more intimate work event through. Esp with wine. Hard to get your hands on a non alcoholic wine!
I was at a party over the weekend and if I wasn't drinking, it would have totally blown my cover. I got a glass of wine, carried it aroun with me and pretended to take small sips here and there. No one said a word. And trust me, they would have if they had suspected.
order something else that is non alcoholic. i have found people question less when you take charge. the alcohol is really not worth the risks associated, but you will find others who say it is safe to drink a small glass in moderation. for me, the thought of alcohol makes me nauseous! good luck and stay confident!!

This is what ill do. I'm normally a very regular drinker. We have a friend's wedding, which my husband is actually in on Oct 18th but my first appointment isn't until Oct 21st at 10 weeks. So, we will not be ready to tell people. I will just carry a glass of wine around and pretend to sip on it and lose it at a table when I set it down to go dance and have to get another.
We have two family weddings over the next two weeks {9/20 & 10/3} with my first appointment smack dab in the middle {9.26}. They're both for my husband's family {his cousin and brother, respectfully}, so our plan for the first is for me to drive home, and the second to say I'm getting over a tummy bug and can't stomach alcohol yet.
