  I can see Zack as a nn for Isaac. Ike is another nn that comes to mind.

  Why does it need a nickname?  Isaac isn't that long and it may be that a nickname will develop unrelated to his name when he gets here.

  I don't know really, dh had been set on the name Zach and I kind of vetoed it. I thought it could be a compromise.

  Zach sounds like an okay compromise. However, I think nicknames just happen (or don't). I wouldn't force it.

  I don't think Isaac needs a nickname. I could see zach coming from Isaac. But if you're going to call him zach, why not name him zach??

  Thank you everyone!! I think you're all right. nn's should come naturally. But it's good to know that not everyone would be confused by the combination if it stuck. We are still tossing names around, and team green anyway so it could be a girl! And if that's the case, then we have a solid girl name we both agree on.
