December 2014 Moms

Here we go again...

We are team green. My cousin(had a surprise pregnancy at 41) just named her 2nd daughter Elaina and they call her Lainey. My cousin's middle name is Elaine and our grandmother was Elaine Louise. My MIL has the middle name Elayne and my husband wants to use MIL's. While I don't mind using the name I think it is too close to Elaina and I hate the spelling. So I was thinking Ella Louise, Louise is also my middle name. I should add DH is also stuck on the name Kori for a girl which eh. I was more for Lucy or Chloe. So our 2 girl names would be Ella Louise or Kori (unknown mn). Our boy names currently are Cooper James or Chase Andrew. So I need input because all my friends are pregnant and names are a no no area for me since we are Team Green. ( I would add a Whitesnake gif I. Here for "Here I go again on my own" if I knew how)

Re: Here we go again...

  • I found that the name forums were really helpful with suggestions. Be prepared for being being extremely blunt, though.

With that being said, I Ella is nice but pretty common. Lucy and Kori are NMS but I do like Chloe. Does your H not like it? I like Cooper and Chase as well. Have you thought about starting a poll?

  • I was on the name board earlier and read some threads about all names. My husband really would like the name Dani over them all for a girl but his best friend/my cousin's father went by Danny and passed away years ago and my cousin is planning on using Dani/Danny for their next child and I am not touching that at all.

I like Ella Louise and I like James as the boys name. The rest not so much.

I wanted Jameson originally but DH has an uncle they call Big Jim and his name is James. He said people will think we named the baby after him.

  • I love the name Ella Louise. And I like the name Cooper, but just so you know my first thought is to call him CooperPooper. Its not negative to me, my youngest names to Poopy (his nn from me was ZooZooPooPoo for a very long time, now its just poopy) But you may not be so cool with that ;)

My nephews name is Lee and I call him PeePee.

  • What is with men and completely random bad names? I don't like Kori at all. Cora would be great but the K and I are such a turn off for me. Ella is more common than I like but it's very nice with Louise and a solid choice overall. I like Lucy a lot, Chloe so-so, I like Cleo/Clio better but that's not everyone's cup of tea. The boy names are fine, except I don't like Cooper, the sound doesn't appeal to me. I like James best, too bad you got vetoed on Jameson.

I tried to go with Corrine and use Cori as a nn. I have a second cousin with that name that lives on the opposite coast as me and my mom was like uh no what are you thinking?

  • @Courtneylovesjason2‌ no, it is how Willie's wife on Duck Dynasty spells it. I really have been anti Kori but I am getting to wits end on us agreeing

  • Don't like Kori at all. All the other names you mentioned are nice, including the boy's names.
  • I think I like Elouise too. Or Lucy, really love Lucy.
  • Eloise Kori? I like Eloise a lot. I prefer Cooper for a boy.

Clio is a make of a car, I think it's Renault that make them.
Probably nothing you would have to worry about over here though.

I like a lot of names from mythology. As far as I know, Renault cars aren't sold in the US.

    ------QUOTE BOX FAIL------

My first car at 16 was a Renault, and I grew up in Missouri. We bought it used from a local car lot, and it had been used as a mail car by the post office. It's the only one I've ever seen in the States, though. And it was a Renault Alliance, not a Clio.

  • I like Ella Louise. In fact, we almost chose Elle Louise for our baby. Kori sounds like something they'd name a gorilla at the zoo.

Clio and Kori are terrible. Why does it mayyer if your daughter has a similar mn to your cousin's daughter's first name? I say use the name that you both like and is meaningful. ESPECIALLY if its as a middle name. I like Lucy or Chloe Elayne.
My cousin's daughter she has the first name Elaina  and he wanted to use Elayne as the first name because I didn't agree with Kori.  I really hate the spelling of Elayne and yes it has meaning, his mom has cancer right now but I am in the boat that I don't want family or someone to know she (if we have a girl) was named after her grandmother who in the future could pass away from cancer and just see that every time they see her.

  • @Anna930‌ I am flat out refusing Kori. I haven't even gotten an agreement on Ella- his response was it sounds like Emma and that is Matt's kid (Matt is his cousin). So what is the difference in those two sounding similar but when I use the logic for Elayne and Elaina I am completely nuts. Same type of relation jerk
