I had a new client at the salon today and she was wearing a huge diamond engagement ring. When I was checking her out, our receptionist asked when she was getting married:
"I really don't know. Whenever my mother decides she's ready to pay for it. It's not going to be small. I want like, 400 people."
She went on to describe what she envisioned and fully expected her mother to pay for. There's no way for me to convey her tone but she was very snobby about it. I couldn't believe the sense of entitlement. A few minutes before this she said she and her fiance were taking their three year old to see Frozen on Ice; "the tickets were really expensive but whatever, I wasn't paying for them."
We talked about me being pregnant and I said I wanted to know the baby's sex so I'd know if I had to wash all of my daughter's baby clothes or sell them and buy boy clothes. She looked really confused "but aren't you having another shower?"
Ugh. She was an utter delight.

I know someone who kept adding and adding to her wedding plans in the hopes that her parents would pitch in and cover the cost in the 11th hour. They ended up giving her some money but nowhere near what she was expecting, and she ended up using her line of credit t pay for it Sweet justice, in my opinion!
She and her fiance have a child, but still expect her mom to pay for the wedding?
Yep. They also live in the basement of her grandparent's house. My guess is they live there rent-free because I'm sure she would have told me how much (or how little) they pay.
