  • Hi on my 10 week ultrasound the doctor told he saw some bleeding that was probably from implantation. He told me if i had light bleeding it was normal. I havent had many bleeding. But maybe thats the cause of yours. Good luck. :)
  • I had bright red dime spotting at 4 weeks, 5 weeks, and 6 weeks. only lasting one time when I used TP. And then brown spotting for about 1-2 days after each incident.  I had my hormones tested and my progesterone was low and they thought that was causing the spotting so they put me on prometrium suppositories. The spotting also was triggered after an event such as running, sex, or something that could irritate the cervix.

Then, at 6 weeks 5 days I was bleeding bright red blood heavy as a period. Almost saturated a pad. I thought for sure I was having a miscarriage. I went to the ER and was diagnosed with a subchorionic hemmorhage (SCH). which is caused from a partial tear of the egg coming off the uterine wall. It forms a blood clot. The clot will either bleed out, be reabsorbed by the body, or continue to tear and miscarry. The ER doctor told me I was lucky to have my baby's HB still. My OB said it wasn't that concerning and miscarriage rates are about 1-3% higher with an SCH. I was on Bedrest for two weeks. The bleeding only lasted a few hours. I had brown discharge for about 4 days after the bleed and then nothing *knock on wood* since. The follow up ultrasound showed that the SCH had reabsorbed and everything has looked great with baby so far. I'm 10 weeks 3 days today.

There are so many things that can cause spotting or bleeding. Document the color, frequency, and amount and talk to your provider. I know its scary! Possibly check to have progesterone checked, too. Progesterone is the hormone that holds a pregnancy together. I also was told that brown or pink is usually OK if not cramping, its old blood. Red is more serious.

Also stay hydrated. When dehydrated the spotting can happen more as well.
