Vote on my hypothetical baby girl names... because apparently making stuff up is common these days.

  • Gregory because you can just pronounce it differently. If you say Grejory (change that hard g) then it sounds more girly.
    THIS ^^ *wipes a tear* ;))

Absolutely not!! I must pronounce it properly. It loses the stupidity factor if i make it sound girly. And what kind of mom would I be without adding a little stupidity factor to my kids name?

  • An aside: Rose and Kate made me think of Titanic and Kate Winslet. So I'm kind of torn on how to vote!

That's a good point. If she doesn't like being Greg when she grows up she can always go by Kate but every Greg I know lives their name so I doubt she'll want to.

  • Totes loving Vinny Rose! I'll send over my daughter Eugene Olivia and son Polly Andrew for a very confusing play date.

  • Oh, Vincent is great! It makes me think of Edgar Allan Poe for some reason and what little girl wouldn't love that comparison?!
  • @thegoodpotato I actually really like the name Sandor too, but considering I'm naming my daughter after a Game of Thrones character, I'm a little biased. ;)

DH said no to Eleanor because it sounds like Lenore. He doesn't "want anyone tap tap tapping on our door".

Hahaha, I actually really like the name Sansa, as well... I think that might be an ego thing, though, because it sounds a lot like my given name.  Although everyone prefers Arya.  ;)

Game of Thrones is going to be responsible for a lot of children's names.

But I can't get behind saddling a girl with "Khaleesi"....

What ticks me off about the name Khaleesi is that it's a TITLE not a NAME. I've snapped at friends who refer to Daenerys as Khaleesi like it's her name.

I also really like the name Sansa, but only when it's pronounced with the proper English accent (sahn-sa, not san-sa), but I didn't want to go with something so obviously related to the books/show. Roslin will sneak under most peoples radar.
I love Roslin! Just wondering though, have you thought about how you'll feel at her hypothetical wedding one day? ;)

Also, YES on Khaleesi not even being a name in that world! Like, would you name your child Queen or Princess... oh shit, wait. Yes. Yes, these people would.

Not gonna lie, I've flirted with the idea of naming our daughter Arya, but I'm afraid they'll kill her off horribly and that would be my daughter's namesake. Although to be fair she's already pretty screwed up.

Uh-oh.  I just found out that Sandor is actually a legit name.....  Now I'm going to have to think long and hard on this one.....
@thegoodpotato Sandor is a really common name in Holland! It's short for "Alexander"
@maasybaby - Eeeeeeenteresting!  Considering that my father's side of the family is Dutch (via South Africa), this makes it even more legit.  :>

There is a lawyer in a town near me whose first name is Princess. I feel so bad for her, but yet I don't think I could ever be represented by Princess.
