  • 1. Tried any new foods or new combos last week?

Yes , we've moved up to stage 2 foods. They defiantly have  a wider range of foods. Ysterday morning we tried bananas, raspberry and blueberry combo . Saturday night we had apples and butternut squash , last night we has sweet potatoes and apricots. She seemed to enjoy it all .

      2. Going to try any new foods or combos this week?

Yes we have a few other new combos we are trying this week. Im sure she will love them all. My little piggy !

      3. Questions or concerns?

No, Other then I think she has developed reflux. The past few weeks she has been spitting up EVERYTHING. And she seems to be in pain. Last night it took her an hour to go to sleep and then her spitting up her whole bottle for her to finally go to bed . We talked to her pedi about it Friday, she said to put cereal in every bottle as well as all food. That hasn't seemed to help.

    4. GTKY What's your favorite dessert?

    Hands down, tiramisu !!

  • 1. We tried acorn squash this weekend. She liked it and ate it but it didn't seem like a favorite.
    2. Trying to decide what to give her this week. Maybe bananas or butternut squash.
    3. We don't serve solids warm. If it's frozen, I just thaw and serve. If it was a jar in the fridge, I sometimes put it in a bowl of warm water to take the chill out. But that's it.
    4. I love dessert! Molten chocolate lava cake may be my favorite. I also love peanut butter pie and freshly baked cookies.

Broccoli and bananas. I also let her have a bite of my Mac and cheese last night.

    2. Going to try any new foods or combos this week?
Tried some cheese yesterday and will try one other food later this week- either green beans or eggs.

    3. Questions or concerns?
Not really. I think letting her eat is fun and am not stressing about it.

  • @tsmith312‌ those sound like some good combos! Ill have to keep them in mind. Sorry about all the reflux problems! Could it be any of the newer solids you've introduced?
@katka512‌ I have never had peanut butter pie before! Sounds delish!

  • 1. Tried any new foods or new combos last week? No new combos. We are still just getting used to texture. He hates it. We did avocado and sweet potatoes this weekend

    2. Going to try any new foods or combos this week? Not yet. Not wanting to push till texture and swallowing is worked out.

    3. Questions or concerns? LO is not doing well with swallowing. I know I don't need to rush him eating solid. He pretty much throws up anything if he gags. He has a easy gag reflex.

    4. GTKY What's your favorite dessert? Godiva Cheesecake from cheese cake factory.

@tsmith312 - sorry about the reflux.  Have you noticed if it happens when you give her certain foods?
No, its just about every day . And a few times a day.

@Sanibel21‌- we don't warm anything up unless its been in the freezer. Except broccoli because I just gave her some of mine so it was already warm.

@kbmac613‌- lo is over 7 months old and we do solids twice a day, occasionally three times. We moved up to two times when she was almost 7 months.

Edit: typing is hard Monday mornings.

  • Has anyone noticed increased spit up possibly related to food? LO had acorn squash the past 2 days and it spitting up more than usual. It made her cry once too. Maybe her stomach can't handle it yet? Although I thought squash was generally well tolerated by babies.

    1. Tried any new foods or new combos last week?

Tried butternut squash. She LOVED it! I think it might be her new favorite food. Also tried nectarines which she likes.

    2. Going to try any new foods or combos this week?

We got acorn squash, apples, and peas that we are going to at least make this week. She'll likely try at least 2 of them.

    3. Questions or concerns?

    Not currently.

    4. GTKY What's your favorite dessert?

Too many to name, lol! If I have to pick just one, let's go with dark chocolate.

@Sanibel21‌ We don't warm up stuff that was in the fridge, only if it was in the freezer.

@kbmac613‌ We are now always doing solids for breakfast and dinner. Sometimes we do for lunch as well. LO will be 6 months old next  this week.

EDIT: LO will be 6 months old THIS week (Fri)! :) Blame my tired brain...where has the time gone?

  • @katka512 I haven't noticed any of increase in spitting, lo does have reflux, but that is exactly why there's a fourish day rule. Don't give the squash for like a week, see if it goes away, then give it again and see if it happens again.

  • @Sanibel21‌ thanks for your input! Yes that's exactly why I'm glad I wait 3-4 days between new foods. I'll hold off on squash for awhile.
Also, it's a frozen peanut butter pie and it's delicious. Especially in an Oreo pie crust!

  • @lostinfaith225‌ I just baked butternut squash today! I cut in half, scooped out the seeds, put it cut side down in a casserole dish with one inch of water. I think I baked it at like 400 for 40 minutes. Then scooped it out and pureed it.
I have not tried any spices or seasoning yet. But I do plan on it down the road.

    1. Tried any new foods or new combos last week?
    - banana ... He's unsure. Tried chunks for him to feed himself as well as fresh mashed. ETA: forgot about garlic mashed potatoes and green peas

    2. Going to try any new foods or combos this week?
    - probably something. We didn't have much that was good for a 6 month old last week. (Pizza, wings, Chinese food)

    3. Questions or concerns?
    - just trying to coordinate a 21 month old (really picky because he's teething) and 6 month old (new to solids) to make meal times easy.

    4. GTKY What's your favorite dessert?
    - MYYYYY fave dessert? Apple pie or lemon pie.

Edit: fix typo and add forgotten food
  • 1. She had plums tonight and loved them (I put some vanilla before I baked them).

    2. I made butternut squash with cinnamon that I will try later this week.

    3. What kind of beef do you use to make it? I'm going to make chicken this weekend, and I want to make beef too

    4. Brownie sundaes. With Heath bar ice cream. Peanut butter sauce. And whipped cream.

  • Also, do you ladies give a bottle while feeding solids? Apparently yesterday my StepMIL was giving her the oatmeal and a bottle and she took quite a bit.
My LO usually eats 2 tbs of cereal with 1-2 tbsp of a veggie.  the cereal is made from the 6 oz formula bottle.  Once she is done eating that she will usually finish the bottle within an hour.   Sometimes right away sometimes later.
