I posted earlier today that I was having brown spotting.  I called my doctor and they had me come in for an ultrasound.  The first thing the tech asked was if my dates were correct.  I know I calculated around cycle day 19 or 20 which puts me at about 6w 4d.  The tech said I was measuring smaller and had trouble detecting a heartbeat.  She also said that my uterus seemed to be contracted in a way that did not look positive.

The doctor came in to prepare us for the possibility of a miscarriage.  We go back next Tuesday for another ultrasound, but neither the tech or the doctor seemed overly optimistic.  

Now I have a headache, a little cramping (but it doesn't feel different from my last pregnancy), and a bundle of nerves while we wait to see what happens.  I am praying for the best, but preparing myself for the worst.

Thanks for reading, I just needed to get this out.
