I'm so mad right now. DH and I specifically told the few people we announced the pregnancy to that we weren't ready to go public yet. Since then various family members have spilled the beans. His step father and mom told the step-grandparents (like within an hour of them finding out) and then I told my grandfather very quietly off to the side at a small family gathering and my sister starts yelling "I don't think uncle and nana heard you! They didn't hear you. Did y'all here her? They didn't hear you mention the baby!" I was ready to kill. Then another one of my sisters told their neighbor because he just asked her if I was pregnant and she said yes instead of dodging (although I can actually forgive this one because my younger sis isn't so great socially). Then my FIL (not the step) told his sorta ex girl friend (a really complicated relationship) this weekend. So forget it. I told DH that next time we aren't telling ANYONE until we are ready to announce to EVERYONE. Honestly, how hard is it to keep your mouth shut?!
Re: This will NOT be happening again
Sorry your family couldn't keep their mouths shut!

Ugh! Why do people act like it's their news to share? So inappropriate!
I only told one girlfriend at work, and made sure to tell her that she was the only one I was telling. If anyone else finds out about it, we'll both know who told!
I learned the hard way, as well
Even my mother, being very respectful, asked if as can spill the beans to a couple people. It's hard for people to keep good news a secret
DH- dear husband (or boyfriend, sig other, fiancé etc)
I learned the acronyms by going to the New user post that links you do a website with all the acronyms
