Would you take DS to the Dr?

DS and I have had a little cold (he's 6 months). He had a little runny nose, then got a little stuffed, and now has a cough and I can hear a little weeze on occasion when he breathes. Other than that, there is no fever and he has been in a good mood everyday. No crankiness.

I just always take him to the DR bc he catches whatever Mini brings home from school and they say, saline drops + humidifier nothing else to do for him. So that's what I do.

Last time we went because he was starting to weeze, she gave me an rx for albuterol and we did nebulizer treatments.

Would you just do a treatment? Or take him in? I just feel like they always say the same thing and I expose him to all the other sickies when his immune system is down. Then I leave thinking, well that's exactly what I was going to do anyways...

With wheezing, I'd probably take him in. We had pneumonia run through the house this spring, though, so I may be paranoid.

I would do a treatment and call the pedi. That is the advice mine gave us for DS.

I would at least put a call in. Wheezing is symptom of this new virus spreading everywhere so I'd be worried.

I would call, but we also have a nebulizer and have been told to use it as needed so I wouldn't wait to use that.

I agree with the others to call and get it logged on his file that there is wheezing and you're going to do a neb treatment if LO gets wheezy again - that way there's something to say "Hey, this wheeziness is getting to be an issue" for future referral to Asthma & Allergy... Last winter DS got RSV and that was the main line of treatment to handle things in what seemed like FOREVER for it to clear completely up..

Also, our pedi said when in doubt it's ok to neb, you can't OD on a nebulizer.

Good call. The wheezing would probably concern me more than the other stuff. Let us know what the DR says! I hope he feels better.

The Dr gave me the go ahead to start the treatments. If it doesn't get a little better by morning I'm going to take him. Thanks for all the advice!
