That is what I get for ignoring all the breech/c-section talk!

I had my 35 week appointment on Friday and my OB said baby girl felt breech.  What the frack?  So I need to go for an u/s this week to see if she is indeed breech or not.  My doc is super conservative so I just know if the word breech comes into play at 36 weeks she will want to just schedule the c-section.  I'm really hoping I have the balls to push it and tell her not until 40.5 weeks...I want to give this LO all the time I can to flip if she decided since 28 weeks that head down wasn't the cool way to hang out.

Sigh...I should start brushing up on my c/s knowledge!  I'm already seeing a chiropractor so I'm just going to hope her head feels like a butt!

  • I hope she turns! I know a c-section is never the first choice, but if it makes you feel any better, I expected way worse. I did not want a c-section last time and was terrified of the possibility. I was so upset when they said I needed one but it was best for the baby. I would try every owt I could find to see if she will turn. Lol
  • FX for you!! I would definitely push to wait until 40+ weeks or until natural labor begins before a cesarean. They can flip anytime! Best of luck!

  • Hopefully the doctor is wrong, mine was! DD has a super hard hiney that she sticks out right under my ribs. The MFM felt of my stomach and was convinced she was breech. I had just had an ultrasound like a hour earlier and she was head down!

  • You don't have to schedule it. But I'll say this I just labored a breech baby until had to an emergency c. It was awful. Worst contractions ever and I've down too natural vbacs. Besides new recommendations no schedule before 39.5 weeks.

  • That's exactly I feel! I didn't pay any attention to c/s or breech talk before my rude awakening u/s last week. I know a bunch of ladies have been talking about it lately so there's a bunch of tips & resources.

FX your next ultrasound is positive! There is still plenty of time to flip :)

This is what is giving me hope!  I still feel the hiccups down low but now I'm all "maybe those are kicks?"  Stupid doctor!

(not really, I love my doctor, I'm just overthinking everything now!)

  • Even if they schedule a c/s, my doctor still checks the day of c/a if they are still breech. So request this if it's not offered.

I legitimately did it myself. Two weeks ago and I swear on a bible, she turned 2 days later. I'd been going to a chiro for 3 1/2 weeks, 3x a week, with no luck. You can buy Moxa off Amazon. You just have someone burn it near your pinky toe. It's super easy. Edit: and she was frank breech, which is the shittier if the 3 breech positions to be in. Pm me if I can tell you anything else.

The babymay still turn. My OB said they can turn as late as 39/40 weeks and that really at 35-36 - they are still doing a lot of moving.  FX that the baby does turn. I know there have been a lot of good posts on exercises to do that can help get baby to turn. When my OB thought my baby was breech she also recommended playing loud music (putting headphones) to where the baby's head is - as that can actually force the baby to want to move its head away.  You should check out the spinning babies site and I've heard that if you can't do acupuncture, going to a chiropractor is a good idea.

Thinking of you and hoping that baby really does turn. There is still time!!

  • And today at my appointment...baby TURNED!  She was head down at my OB appointment!  She is flipping hourly it feels like!  So we did come up with a plan with my doctor today.

Next week (37 weeks) if she is presenting breech we will schedule a version for 38 weeks.  If she isn't breech, all is good and nothing to worry about!

If we do the version at 38 and it is successful, again all is good and nothing to worry about!  If it isn't successful at 38 weeks (or if at my 38 week appointment she is breech again) we can try again at 39 weeks but we would do an induction right away if the 39 week flip works.  If we don't do the 39 week version I would just wait until I go into labor naturally and if she is breech have a c/s.

There are a lot of variables but the plan is good and I feel so much better about it now.  DH about died when my OB said to be ready at 38 weeks to have this baby (if we do the version) because if it breaks my water or I start bleeding I wasn't going to leave the hospital without a baby!  Hopefully we don't get to that point!
