Looks like M might have a peanut allergy.

He got a tiny bit of peanut butter on a slice of banana and his face got all rashy. A mentioned it at his 15 month check up and the pedi was pretty concerned. We are now the proud owners of an epi pen (that is technically not even dosed for his weight because he is so tiny). We have a follow up with the allergist in December, but I was wondering if you have any advice or words of wisdom in the meantime.
Have you visited an allergist for your LO? What was the experience like? We know that adults tend to go through crazy skin scrapings, are they going to do that to my mini-human?
Have you dealt with peanut allergies yourself or with you kids? Any major watch-out-fors?
You guys are always so awesome, thanks in advance for your help!

Re: Has anyone dealt with allergies?
But unfortunately (considering no
Babies yet) I'm not familiar with food allergies! I have pet allergies and one med allergy but I don't remember what the testing was like for the pet allergy.... I was too little lol (and the med allergy was discovered when I was prescribed it when I was five)
Good luck with everything through! Hope they can get it figured out and it's not too serious.
I hope you get an answer soon.

Good luck at the allergist (sooo frustrating that it takes so long to get in, I know).
You know, G eats just about anything, but has always turned his nose up to eggs. As it turns out, that's what he's allergic to. There definitely might be something to that.
Anyway, you're right that peanuts are a well-known allergen and labeling is really good. So hopefully it won't be too big of a life stressor. And seriously, don't worry about the Allergist visit. It was super easy for us.
