Bryson has had 2 cataract surgeries in 10 days. I am exhausted. He currently has to have 11 eye drops per day applied to his eyes. He totally knows what they are and closes his eyes tight and screams every time I try to use them. He now has to permanently wear contacts for at least 6 years. They are $250ish per eye per year. The insurance will cover 1 set per year which means every time 1 gets rubbed out and lost, or tears it comes out of pocket. His brain is also pretty much ignoring his left eyes existence because the cataract had it completely covered for so long. I also feel so much anger towards the dr who saw him 6 times and didnt see the cataract. The extent of the permanent damage is still unknown, but the surgery should have been completed no fewer than 13 weeks ago to prevent permanent damage.

Re: 2 surgeries in 10 days
This sounds awful.
I hope that surgery helps. The brain is an amazing thing, so now that the cataract is gone hopefully LO will learn to use both eyes.
Have courage.
Definitely contact the company who makes the contacts. When I did hospital social work I was always surprised at the breaks, coupons, discounts, etc... we could get from the pharmaceutical companies if the patient had insurance issues or constraints. Its worth the call because the worst that can happen is they will say no. I hope this helps!
Hugs and kisses to you both
Definitely contact as many people as possible. The reps and companies directly for sure.
I would to the doctor that missed it too
