  I pprom'd also, and I really enjoyed those puzzle paperbacks.  Make sure you include a highlighter, doing them in pen sucks.

  Another of my favorite things was one of those tumbler cups with the straw?  Mine had some sort of funny saying on it and rocked because it didn't remind me of where I was.

  OH good ideas!  Thanks.  I wish I knew her a tiny bit better to figure it out, but what I do know is that she is an awesome teacher and that she needs distractions and happy thoughts.

  Poor lady. While I was on leave my students sent me cards, a banner, flowers, and a jar with good memories written on slips of paper. I loved that they continued to think of me while I was gone.

  Absolutely snacks for the room!   There's a lot to be said about a treat when you want it and not necessarily when they bring something by nor necessarily having control over what they bring by... I'll be silly - a tiny salt shaker (the hospital I was at to deliver the food was so bland).. 

  Puzzles, I know a lot of Moms took up knitting/crocheting when they were on bed rest (include a "how to" video in case she's never done it)...   Amazon gift card...  Phone charger..   

  I had a friend whose water broke at the same point and her little guy is now in the 90-99%ile for his age, not the preemie charts now at 9mo...
