Boba Baby Carrier, Thoughts?

(Coming over from August 2014)

Anyone use this?  I'm looking at the 4G carrier.

I used the Moby with my other sons (mostly for my 2nd).  I like it, but the Boba looks like it may be easier.  Sometimes the Moby fits too loose or too tight, depending on how you put it on and tie it.

I tried using the Moby for my 6 week old yesterday, and unless he's sleeping, it's hard to get his head supported in it.  I can't remember when I started to use the Moby with my other boys, but I think they had more head support.  It looks like the Boba would support the head better.

Any feedback at all?

Re: Boba Baby Carrier, Thoughts?

  • I love our Boba 4G!  I really tried to get into the Moby but it was way too much fabric and it was too difficult to nurse LO in it.  When he was super little, I couldn't maneuver the fabric fast enough to feed him when he was hungry without him melting down all over.  The Boba was so much better for us.  The snap-in infant insert is a lot easier than others I've seen (i.e. I really love my Tula, but their infant insert was such a pain AND it was a separate purchase).  I was also able to nurse LO by just loosening the straps to drop LO down a little.  Both my H (over a foot taller than me) and my mom (my height but heavier than me) use the carrier regularly with LO now and they love it.  While I find my Tula to be slightly more comfortable, I think the Boba was a better buy.

  • Thanks!  I just ordered one a few days ago, I'm excited to try it.

I've used my Moby a few times, and am reminded by the things I don't like about it.  I've never nursed in a baby carrier...baby I can try that out in the Boba.

  • I have a boba 4G and I actually don't like it. Un-snapped, not in infant mode, there are snap parts on the inside of the waist that dig into my hips and leave marks. I think I'm going to trade it for a Tula, since I prefer wraps for the newborn stage anyway.
