Due dates off

Does anyone have any success stories of due dates being off? I had a u/s yesterday, I should've been 7w5d, but the sac measured at 6w2d. Didn't see a heartbeat, just the gestational sac & yolk sac. Help!!

I guess. Who really knows, right? It's just another thing to stress about. I went in because I had some light spotting, which has now stopped. I go back next week to re scan. The tech said the sac looked beautiful shape wise, but we just need a heartbeat. She said her gut feeling was that my dates were off as nothing looked scary on the u/s. Waiting is the worst!

Agree with PPs- you possibly ovulated later than "normal". I have ovulated as late as cycle day 22-23 which would be 8-9 days off from my LMP "due date". This is one of the things thats drives me the most crazy about OBs- assuming everyone Oed on CD14. Unfortunately without temping or using OPKs, you can't be sure. I would ask for betas as well in the mean time. I hope everything works out!!

FX that you just O'd late. I know I have charted O dates ranging anywhere from 11-22 days into my cycle.

PP's have covered it, but I'm a good example of dates being off. I did temping/charting, so I know when I ovulated. Going by LMP (which most ob's do) I'm 2weeks behind.

I learned from charting that I typically ovulated on day 19/20/21 instead of 14. That's already about a week behind using LMP for dating.

For whatever reason, I didn't ovulate until day32 with this pregnancy. I'm 29wks along now.

Everyone has covered it, but yes you won't know exactly when you ovulated if you weren't temping and charting or using OPKs. I used to have a very predictable 28 day cycle and I would O around the 14th day. After my m/c last year, my cycles got longer and longer every month. Based on my LMP, I measured 5 days behind at my 8wk appointment. Since I wasn't temping, there's no way for me to know.

Thanks for the help! I'm thinking the m/c in April through my schedule off as well. However, I had a little more pink spotting this am so I don't feel very reassured

Unfortunately, spotting is common in pregnancy (not at ALL nice, especially to the PgAL brain). Try to rest and take good care of yourself until your next appointment. ((((Hugs)))) let us know how it goes.

The spotting seems to only be in the morning when I wake up. Does this mean anything???

Per my dr early u/s are usually off about a week! You could do another one in a couple days and there could be a bean there! Good luck and try to relax , I know easier said than done!

Without knowing for certain when you ovulated, it is a good possibility your dates are off. I have PCOS and chart, my cycles are all over. My OB still goes by that silly wheel for me. The ultrasound proves the wheel wrong every time. Good luck at your appt next week.

The first ultrasound/due date don't really matter. It is the following ones which matter. Whether or not there is measurable growth is what matters. I was off by 11 days based on my LMP but just ovulated super late. I too had some spotting in week 5/6 but it was dark brown/old blood. Some women do experience "break through" bleeding at the approximate time you would get your monthly period. Some women even have this monthly throughout their pregnancy. Fingers crossed that its nothing.
