DS is too fat for it now. The swing has trouble moving his immense mass. The swing would stop swinging when he'd lunge forward to reach for the little animals above his head. He prefers the jumper now.
DS still loves ours but he's too big for it (not weight-wise, but his legs totally hang out) and when he gets really jazzed about it, he will try and grap / twist for the bunny ear on the pillow (it's the FP snuggabunny swing) and has almost twisted himself out (straps no longer fit around him). Sometimes if he's fussy and needs a change of venue, I'll still put him in it, but I have to sit right next to it -- it's no longer a "baby minder." It's pretty much time for retirement but I'm super bummed about it.
We put it away about a month ago (4.5 mos) after it wasn't getting much action.
However, at my parents beach house we have a regular swing screwed Into to one of the doorways- it used to be French doors to outside, but there was an addition and now it's between the dining & family rooms. It's a swing like people put from a tree limb. My 3yo was in it this summer. Awesomeness.
None of my kids seemed to like it all that much. As each of them hit 5 months (this baby included) they all just try to climb out of it. I'm about to sell mine on a FB garage sale page

I voted "till LO breaks it" because we do daytime naps in it. Before that he only seemed to nap on me or in the car. Its a 2-in-1 with the bouncy seat and I think the vibration really helps sooth him. I started using it for naps about a month ago when I realized it was a pretty good simulation of the car. He will fuss when I first put him in it, just like the car seat, but eventually gives up and conks out. If he's really resisting I crank on the vacuum as well. My carpet and flooring has never been so clean:)

I want to retire it soooo bad because it takes up SOOOO much room but kiddo still likes to sleep in it. So until she starts to get out of it it will continue to add to the BRU obstacle course that is my living room.
Re: Indoor swing?
DS seems to be outgrowing ours already.
