31 weeks!

Hi ladies! This is my first post. I always read but never post. I'm a FTM! My husband and I went to the doctor and our baby boy weighs 5lbs already. He's going to be a big boy! Our tentative due date is November 13th. How big are your babies weighing in now?

Re: 31 weeks!

  • Welcome and congrats!! I'm she the end of October, at my ultrasound last week that little guy was weighing in between 5-6 lbs. Of course ultrasounds aren't the most accurate, but he is measuring ahead and seems healthy in all regards.

  • Hi ! We're due a few days after you and she's about 3 lbs, pretty much on schedule. Good luck with your baby boy, I hope your hips and back don't kill you today.

  • Hi! I'm due the 7th and at 28 weeks he was weighing 3 pounds!

  • 31 weeks last Wednesday- measuring a little over 4lbs, some of his measurements are big. They say he's going to be a big boy, he's measuring 2 and 1/2 weeks early. My hubs is 6'6 sooooo I'm not concerned at all.
  • Wow, if they are right he will be a big boy.  I'm 30 weeks and on Friday they were saying she was about 3 lbs.

Just a word to the wise, they can be very wrong about the size of the baby.  My daycare boy was suppose to be 9-10 lbs when he was born based on ultrasounds and he was only 7 lbs 5 oz.
  • Congrats and welcome! Not sure how much LO weighs right now...

  • Hello and welcome! I'm 31 weeks and have yet to have a discussion with doctor on estimated weight. When's it normal to start looking into that? My next appt isn't for 2 weeks but I'll have to ask then.
  • Welcome to N14! I had an US last week, at 29+ weeks and Butternut weighed in at 3 lb, 4oz.

@kikimeemee I think they can only estimate the weight with an US, not just a regular appointment. At appointments they tend to base the size off a fundal measurement…but I think both can have a large margin of error.

  • At our 31 week growth ultrasound our sweet pea estimated weight was 5lbs too! I have officially stopped buying newborn clothes and will stick to buying Sizes 3 months and up

  • I'm due 11/22 and my baby girl was estimated at 3lb, 4oz at 30 weeks. She's measuring on average the 42nd percentile, which the doc said would be about 7lb, 4-6oz. I was 7lb, 2oz, so I'm good with that =).
    It's a girl! Due November 22, 2014
  • They haven't told me how much she weights ever, usually the dr estimates closer to my EDD
  • Welcome! I was told DS was over 9 pounds ... He was born 6 pounds 15 ounces! Last week I was told she was measuring at around 3.5 pounds. I honestly don't listen to the numbers anymore, they can be so incorrect! However it's still fun to hear them!

Hmm...then are all these women on this thread getting ultrasounds at 31-ish weeks?  I thought ultrasounds were only at the very beginning, 20 weeks and maybe one at the very end.   ??
