Going to rip my hair out soon....

My DS for the last 4 nights has been up every hour of the night feeding. He is 5 months as of yesterday. Has anyone else had this happen around this time? He all of the sudden wakes so easily and won't go back to sleep unless I nurse him. He is nursing so much so I have him in bed with me and I wake to him kicking me constantly. I am SO freaking tired. Maybe a growth spurt? Thought that was 6 months... Every baby is different I know.

Re: Going to rip my hair out soon....

  • My LO has been up every 2-3 hrs since 4 months. He's 5 1/2 months now. Sadly it's our new normal. No advice but were in the same boat.

  • B has done this the past few nights after STTN for ages. She wakes up screaming each time but typical will nurse for a few minutes or fall back asleep when I pick her up. I think she may be teething and she's really congested so I hope it's not a long term thing. Hope it's temporary for you all too!
  • Ever since my DS was born he had only woke up two times a night until a few weeks ago. Now he is like a new baby. He wakes constantly through out the night. I feel for you.

  • Yesss I had that! It lasted about a week or so he is now getting back to his 4am wake up but still wakes up at 2am every other day to feed so Mami is a little tired, plus I had the 4m sleep regression too which was hell.... Just remeber it will soonpass (hopefully anyways)

  • This happened to us around July. She's five months now and shows no signs of improvement. Hang in there!

This. Naps suck too. I don't know how to fix it so I am just rolling with it.

  • Normal regression. There's also a big leap at 22 weeks (says my WW app that I never really remember to check unless something majorly out of whack starts looking like a habit).

  • Hugs. It's so hard to be so tired and function. This has been my life for the past 22 weeks. My LO has never not woken up every 1-2hrs a night and for the last month has especially loved waking up and staying up screaming for 2-3hr stretches. I've adjusted to surviving on no more than 2-4hrs total sleep per day. I hope things improve soon for you!

    ~~Everyone Always Welcome~~

  • Mine did that last week every night, and then on the 7th night slept great.  I chalked it up to a spurt.
  • 5 months today and definitely having sleep issues too :(
  • DD just did this last night :( I'm hoping it won't last long, but I'm afraid it will...

  • We're right there with you! The other night I left LO with my parents while DH and I went to dinner. My mom panicked when LO wouldn't stop shrieking, and she ended up feeding her 4 oz instead of her usual 3. Maybe it was a fluke, but that night LO slept from 11 pm to 4 am. She has not done that in ages!

My pediatrician suggested cluster feeding LO in the evenings to see if that effects nighttime wakings. It's worth a shot! Fingers crossed it works.

Also, LO is officially the perfect height to kick me right where it hurts: in the c-section scar. I feel your pain, quite literally :)

  • You're lucky if this just started now, we've been dealing with this since 3.5 months and LO is 5 months now. We're finally getting some good nights now. Hopefully it doesn't last that long for u
