I need your opinion on TWO VERY IMPORTANT THINGS.
1) What is the best hot chocolate recipe and/or instant hot chocolate?
2) Who makes the very, very best and warmest house slippers?
Readdddyyyyyyyyyyyyyy...GO.
Edit: If you can't tell, it got cold outside and I'm freezing. Not ready for this. Nope. No. BEAT IT.
Re: If you live where it gets brutally cold...(Canadians, I'm looking at YOU).
Slippers- see if you can find someone who makes moccasins. Warmest things ever! I got mine from a local lady and my feet are always warm! I bring them with me wherever I go in winter.
As for slippers, I'm more of a socks girl.

As for slippers, Deerfoam are great, I know you can get them at Target and Costco. Uggs are good ones too, especially if you get some that have the memory foam soles! Keeps my feet toasty! Or you could always buy an electric foot warmer! I know Wal-Mart and Bed Bath and Beyond carry them around the holidays. Good luck!
Carnation make a delicious pack of hot chocolate mixes that are based on chocolate bars (Coffee Crisp, Aero, After Eight etc). I have only seen it at Costco but maybe it's sold elsewhere also.
As for slippers, I can't help there as I'm not a huge fan. I wear bare feet in the house until I can't stand it anymore. Or until my hubby can't stand me putting my ice cold feet on him... Then I put on socks. But I'm not happy about it
Stay warm!
Edit: late night typo
Do you have an electric blanket?! I discovered my love for them last winter. I would use it while snuggling on the couch but the best thing to do with it is warm up your bed. About 15 minutes before bed, you lay it under your blanket and turn it on. When you get into bed it will be so toasty and cozy. Best $40 I've ever spent!
My go-to's are
1) wool socks because I hate wearing shoes and slippers are too close. However my sister did crochet me a pair that I like, but they have a soft bottom.
2) electric blanket! Love love love mine. I turn mine on to warm up the bed before I get in and it's perfect. Also, mine is king sized and each side is individually controlled.
1) hot cocoa- I apologize because I measure nothing when cooking. But I use milk, sugar, a little cocoa, and some cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice to taste. Really good!

As for slippers, the only thing I will ever wear are Padraig slippers:

They have a nice, thick, sheepskin sole to keep feet away from cold floors, and the woolen uppers are so cozy. Everyone in the family has a pair.
Monster Truck (It's a GIRL!) is due 19/02/2015!
2 cups powdered sugar
1 cup cocoa (Dutch-process preferred)
2 1/2 cups powdered milk
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 pinch cayenne pepper, or more to taste
Hot water
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl and incorporate evenly. In a small pot, heat 4 to 6 cups of water.
Fill your mug half full with the mixture and pour in hot water. Stir to combine. Seal the rest in an airtight container, keeps indefinitely in the pantry. This also works great with warm milk.

As for slippers, down camp booties made by the north face or Sierra designs are so hot I can't wear them. You can likely buy them from backcountry.com
Polar Express Hot Chocolate (aka the BEST hot chocolate you’ve ever tasted) Recipe:
–1.5 cups of heavy cream
–1 can of sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)
–2 cups of bittersweet chocolate chips
–6 cups of milk
–1 tsp vanilla extract
In a large pot over low heat, combine all of the above ingredients. Stir regularly for 30-40 minutes until chocolate is fully melted and incorporated with other ingredients.
We can trade. There's only so little you can wear in public before you cause a scene.
