Cloth Diapering

What are your favs

Okay so I am a newb to cloth diapering and I apologize if this has been asked recently (I tried to search this but nothing recent has come up). Please will you share what YOUR favorite CD's are! Brand? Type? And suggestions of what to start my stash with? Your opinions are much appreciated!!

  • Prefolds and fitteds. I love my green mountain diaper ones but fitteds end up being like trading cards. Very expensive trading cards.

  • I didn't like stuffing pockets but what I REALLY didn't like was I stuffing the dirty ones!

  • My favourite so far has been BG 4.0s. They have the best fit on my DD and they are high quality with great colours.

But I love sbish fitteds for overnight, and I am also loving Blueberry coveralls over prefolds lately.

  • I love my BumGenius 4.0s. Hands down. They have been the only diapers that have still fit with my sons growth spurts and body changes. Same with my flips, except he's too wiggly to deal with multiple pieces right now.

  • It's really going to depend on how your baby is built. BGs have never fit great for us, despite their popularity. Try a variety. See what works for you.

  • Flats - DIY
    Fitteds - mother ease
    Pockets - Alva
Inserts - applecheeks, thirsties, mother ease and DIY.

Love my flats but I'm developing a fitted love at the moment. I like all those brands mentioned and are quite happy.

I don't have any but I've always liked bum genius and hated blueberry and fuzzibunz but these were based on toddler size and wetness. Not baby.
  • Blueberry side snap simplex all in one. Trim fit and doesn't take as long to dry as other all in ones.

  • Prefolds and covers.
    Imagine prefolds, and Assunta covers.
I also like pockets - we use Kawaii

  • As many have said this is really going to vary depending on baby's size/shape, whether you are out and about a lot or primarily stay home, whether you use a DC, what type of water/washer you have, etc.

    My personal favs:

NB stage: GMD prefolds, GMD workhorses, flats, Bummis Super Brite covers, Sweet Pea NB covers, Thirsties Duo Wraps size 1

In Between Stage: GMD small workhorses, flats, Apple Cheeks Size 1 pockets, Thirsties covers, Best Bottoms covers with Stay dry inserts

One-size Stage: SoftBums pockets, Blueberry Sized Simplexes, flats, red edge GMD prefolds, Blueberry Coverall covers, Sweet Pea Covers, Best Bottoms with large cotton/hemp inserts

Toddler Stage: Blueberry Coveralls/Capris with brown prefolds, GMD green edge workhorses, flats under Sweet Pea Covers

  • Right now I prefer fitteds or snappi'd GMD prefolds and covers. (Workhorses, Osocozy even though the rise is super short. I don't expect the large size to fit my 3 month old too much longer)

I also use flats in the origami fold and snappi'd.

Covers I prefer Flips and Thirsties duo wraps. I also have Imagine but they fit my DD funny.

Pockets and Ai2's for out. Such as the doctor as their easier to take on and off. I like BG's and I have a couple WAHM Ai2's.

  • My favourite diapering system right now is pad folded flats in tuckable covers (Blueberry Capri covers are my favourite, but I am about to order some Flips to try too). Flats just wash and dry so easily.

I use prefolds (Sweet Pea brand) snappi'd in the mornings (when dealing with runny, but fairly scheduled poop) with covers.

For NB stage I liked folded flats (did not like the bulk of nb prefolds) with covers. Rumparooz, Thirsties and Blueberry NB size covers fit my guy right away and sill fit now at over 13 lbs. Those were all great investments and will resell well because they are in great shape. We used Kawaii Pure & Naturals overnight, those were great for overnight changes, but I hate stuffing pockets.

Unlike most people on this board, I hate fitteds. I find them so hard to clean, the fitteds I have take forever to dry so I dealt with some funky stink issues at first.
