FFFC

I used the blue snot sucker and got snot out of DD's nose. Only thing close enough to wipe it on was DH's shirt. He may or may not have worn it to work today.....

  • Loading the player...
  • DD is fighting sleep every night. She has bath, nurses, clock strikes 7p and she's wide awake and grouchy. She wants to sleep, but is having a hard time self soothing and when I try to soothe, it just makes things worse.

Last night I lost my cool and yelled a bad word. Not at her, just at the ceiling. I felt so badly though. I'm just so exhausted and have no idea how else to help her.

Oh also, she's learning the power of her vocal cords and will scream off and on to communicate. What the hell happened to the cute cooing?
  • @comicsans I like that idea but pretty sure DH would not be a fan

  • I stopped on the way home yesterday and got a cheeseburger... I still made dinner and told DH I wasn't hungry but I know he knew somehow but didn't say anything me or I would have stabbed him with the fork he was eating with.
  • I think people that don't cloth diaper are crazy.

Ok, I'm kidding... But y'all should really try it.

....and I confess that the main reason I am sad it is getting colder outside is the fact that DS will now have to wear pants and cover up his cute fluff butt. :((

I've been lurking a whole lot on A14 because I find it way more entertaining than M14.

    So guilty of this.

  • I can't stand like 95% of my husbands family; I find them so incredibly obnoxious.

Last night, my husband gets home from work, and the first thing out of his mouth is that his company may be moving us back to South Florida. I actually started to cry. We had discussed it in the past, and both agreed we didn't want to move back there, for a myriad of reasons. Now they dangle this in front of him and he's jumping out of his skin to get back there. And when he asks me why I'm so opposed to moving back, I didn't have the heart to tell him the thought of being so close to his family makes me nauseous (not the only reason, but it's way up on my list). I didn't get a wink of sleep last night because this is all I can think about, and I'm really hating on him now.
I totally get what you're saying, living far away from inlaws is awesome. I would never want to move back to my hometown for that reason too.
  • @comicsans of course now I had to lurk on A14 for myself. I am now caught up on their bump crushes. Thanks for introducing me to a new month to lurk on!

So confession #2: MIL came over last night and brought some things for DD that she picked up. She bought DD a Christmas dress, and I really wanted to pick one out for her myself. So part of me wants to "accidentally" damage it so I can. I won't but the thought is there.
    :((

    It's secondhand so I can't return it.

Ugh i hate that. Do they even consider that it would be special for us to buy our own babies first christmas outfit or any special occasion outfit for that matter. They had their chance with their own kids. This one bugs me so much.
Maybe it wont fit by then?!? ; )

We always end up with more than one Christmas outfit. It's a good thing! So many things happen around that time of year. So the kids can wear one outfit for photos, one for church, one for my family gathering, one for DH's family gathering, etc. We also never know what the weather will be like here in Texas, so sometimes we'll have one outfit for the morning if it's cool, then another in the afternoon if it warms up. Plus it's nice to have a backup in case one outfit gets ruined (which it likely will).

Even if you really hate the outfit, you just take one photo in it at home for your MIL and then toss it. Problem solved.

  • I just had two cookies, a giant bowl of chips and a chocolate bar as an afternoon snack. If I was having sex I would suspect pregnancy.
  • I pushed to CD and am really glad we're doing it, but sometimes I wish for the ease of disposables. Less laundry, don't have to carry dirty diapers around when you go on short trips (like to church or the mall).

I think this is another case of the grass is always greener.
My FFFC: We CD but have been using disposables all week because I haven't done any laundry. ETA: @Emmagk‌, that picture is too cute!

Yiiiiikes. What a mess over there! Guess we should be glad our board is filled with sleep (or no sleep), feedings, boobies, 4 month wakefuls.....

During all this wakefulness I lurk the TTC board for something to get me through night feedings. Partially because im sad I am done with TTC, but also because of the crazy questions and flamming and gifs... I miss gifs

  • Sometimes in public I lie about my daughters age when asked how old she is. She is big for four months (95% weight 98% height) and I get so f'ing sick of all the "she's so big" comments. I find when I up her age by a month or two the comments don't happen. Meh?!

I feel you on this one my little girl is bigger as well, but I would be scared to lie as I don't want people to think she is developmentally behind
  • I like DH's family, they're fun. It's my own family that I can't stand.

I don't get getting mad when someone buys your kid a Christmas dress or something like that.  I haven't had to buy my kids one thing like that yet.  We get hand me downs and I'm all "Sweet!  I don't have to spend money on something they'll wear once!"  I haven't even had to buy Halloween costumes yet lol

Tee hee. This. I do feel bad when they wear it once though.

I bought Halloween costumes and I think I insulted my MIL as she said she would have made some. Whoops. And I'm sorry I didn't assume you'd be my sewing slave?
  • I always used to get my panties I'm a knit when someone would say "just wait til you have kids" or "you don't have kids you wouldn't understand"

I totally get it. I almost said it to my friend the other day when I was asking how she got her 4 month old she's caring for to sleep. Needless to say I don't agree with it and I almost said wait until it's your child one day.

Then she proceeded to say she liked working with babies so she can get them on the right track before parents screw them up. I could have throat punched her via text if I could.

But still. I totally get it now. And I am very humbled by it now.

FFFC I'll probably get flamed for this but if she posted it publicly on her facebook, I assume she doesn't care who sees it. Husbands dads wife (not my mil) his "mistress" before DH turned 18. Decided she wanted to post comments about my daughter being a mistake once again. TWICE. I have been putting up with it for over a year now because my husband told me to let it go or they will never stop. Well I did let it go and she never stopped. So I took screen shot of her posts and posted it on my facebook to finally put her on blast so people who see what kind of sick, twisted  person she is. And the comments are MINUTE compared to things she has said to us via text message and also in the past. My friends cracked me up with all the comments. Made me feel a lot better. It just hurts my heart that she victimizes an innocent infant who she has not and never will meet.

ETA: The day before my MIL had to go to court with her ex husband who was trying to get out of his divorce agreement by not paying the rest of the mortgage off on her house, he decided to sign the paper tail tucked between his legs, and our lawyer told his that if his wife bad mouths me or my mil on fb anymore there will be a lawsuit.
