just curious, are you mostly homebound or have u been getting out? if so, why is ur day like? those with more than 1, please chime in on your daily routine.
I try to get out every day for at least a little bit. I'm used to working in an office so being at home alone makes me go a little stir crazy. I have used the opportunity of being off work to meet up with friends for lunch and coffee and if no one is free I run errands. Because of the LOs schedule, I try not to plan anything before 10 bc we usually are not up and moving till around 9 since she eats around 6 so I try to get one more stint of sleeping in before getting up for her next feeding/the day.
We're out most days when the weather is nice. It's been raining here the last couple of days so we have done some shopping, visiting Grandma & Grandpa, and had a movie day yesterday.
I really try to but some days I'm not able to even go and get the mail. The babies have good and bad days obviously so it just depends. I think it's important to get out when you can though even if it's just to walk around the block.
My routine is a bit different now since I am still on maternity leave, normally I'd be at work all day, plus with summer being over my daughter is in school all day so its just me and my son. Now I don't go out of my way to make sure we do something outside the house everyday but unlike a lot of people with newborns I don't have it stop me from leaving the house either. For example we visit my dad every sunday, that doesn't change just because I have my son(hes a month old now). Also I run errands as I always would, since I'm a single parent I have to bring him with me. So hes been to many different stores over the last month lol. My best friend recently moved into my apartment building so we go over to her place at some point almost everyday for a little while. If it's a nice day I take him for a walk around the block. He's also sat any many restaurants since I've had him as well, when we visit my dad we often go out to lunch as well. I know many new parents stay home a lot as they are concerned about baby getting sick when they are out in places with a lot of people. Personally I dont do that and the only thing I've had to alter is the time I go somewhere as I like to make sure that it's right after he's eaten and is changed. He generally falls asleep anytime we are in the car and will almost always sleep the entire time we are out anyway lol. Sometimes I'd like to be able to leave him home when I need to do something, especially if it's quick, but as a single parent I really have no choice but to take him with me where ever I'm going, though we do spend a lot of time at home as well. We have people visit us or we play inside. I don't think it's necessary to go outside at some point every day as long as my son is being engaged in some type of activity or visiting someone, even if they are coming to our house it's just as good. I personally am not an outdoorsy type person and try to avoid being outside for long periods of time, so I try to limit actual time outside to short walks or sitting outside for a bit of time earlier in the morning or later in the evening if it's nice out. As he gets older and can move around on his own we'll start going to the playground after work as well as going on our walks.
