Help! Dishwasher gone mad

Ran my dishwasher this morning only to find there were a bit of suds when it finished. Ran it again, more suds. FIVE water only washes later and it's only worse!

I only use cascade, less than recommended. I ran a bowl of vinegar through last cycle, no change. It's draining water fine and the filter is clear. I can't figure out where these suds are coming from!

What do I do????

    Just realized you said the filter is clear. Idk. Weird that you keep getting suds.

    Ours likes to flood the kitchen once every few months.

    Testing one possibility - the rinse aid. Apparently rinse aid can suds (didn't know this, thanks Google), so could be the dispenser is releasing too much. I've turned off the dispenser and sucked out what I could with a syringe in case it leaks. Running it again to see if any improvement. It would explain the worsening suds despite running w/o detergent.

    One cycle done and considerable improvement. I think we've found the culprit. By time I've got this all sorted out, these will be the world's cleanest dishes.

    I use lemon juice instead of rinse aid. It works well, I live an area with very hard water. I usually put it in the pre rinse spot.
