Gum issues!

Have any of you ladies experienced gum issues? Mine have been so sensative and bleed. I talked to my friend who is a dental hygienist and she told me to swish warm salt water, use a soft bristle brush and recommended a different toothpaste. How many of you ladies are having the same or similar issues and what do you do to help? Oh the joys of pregnancy!!

Yep pregnancy gingivitis. I have it too. Though so far it was worse with my first. It will get better after delivery but for now do all the things as suggested by your friend it will help. I also had so see my dentist more frequently last time.

I had that with my second. I went to the dentist for a cleaning and never had it again

I got a ton of dental work done before we started TTC because I didn't want to have issues during pregnancy. I would see your dentist and try to correct it - my OB mentioned that gum disease during pregnancy can contribute to premature labor. Not sure how that works, but floss anyways!

I haven't experienced it yet, but I had a dentist appointment yesterday and she asked me if i had any gum bleeding and told it it was normal

I have a pregnancy tumor on my front bottom gums. And I'm still in the middle of tons of reconstructive work... I need work on literally every tooth in my mouth. Cancer treatments and being on pain killers for 8 years just wrecked my teeth. I started off with basically no enamel, (thanks Mom!) so I was already behind the 8 ball on it. I feel your pain girls. But it's worth the pain and inconvenience to get to have my baby!

Just in case you hadn't already heard this a million times, dental hygiene and care is SUPER important during pregnancy. Don't be afraid to see your dentist, and definitely go the extra mile with your oral care routine.
