December 2014 Moms

oh the irony

First Saturday off since April. I was so excited to not have my alarm goes off. What happens, you ask? Well I woke up, exactly 5 minutes after when my alarm would have gone off, to the sensation of a Charlie horse. There's no going back to sleep now. I'm just going to lay here and pretend to be asleep now.

    Enjoy your day off.

  • That's my life.

Once you have a toddler who wakes a 6:00 every day, Saturday and Sunday are just the days when you and your spouse roll over and state at each other until the small person squawks rather than racing through showering and dressing. When he throws us an occasional bone and sleeps until 8:30, we've invariably been up for two hours thanks to our glorious internal clocks.

I was never good at sleeping in, but I think I'm now permanently ruined in sleeping past 7:00...

I remember those days. DD1 is almost 8 now and totally self sufficient on weekend mornings. It's so nice. I heard her get up after I woke up and apparently she's already eaten and is flipping through a comic book.
  • There is @Ainslie325‌ ! It's amazing! I've been wondering how I'm going to handle this time around since it's been so long since DD1 was at a needy age. it's going to be a massive change

You give me hope that one day I won't have a 4 year old in my face promptly at 6:00AM whisper shouting "Mooooom, I need some breakfast!"

  • I can never sleep in on weekends anymore. I don't know what happened to my body, but I wake up by 8am like clockwork now. Laaame!

Isn't it depressing? I remember like a decade ago when I could sleep into the middle of the afternoon!
  • We're becoming our parents @gradschoolmom1234‌ . I only give it so long before waking up at 7 is considered an unattainable sleep in
  • My 9 month old starting screaming "ba ba" (bottle) at 6:30...exactly 25 minutes before I usually crawl out of bed... This was quickly followed by my 7 year old puking and the 4 year old begging for breakfast. Here I was thinking that a late bottle last night and letting everyone stay up a bit last night would mean me getting to sleep until 8am. Now I just get to watch as they all inevitably fall victim to this nasty stomach virus.

I seriously miss sleeping past 8 am and even that's late. My 2 year old hates sleep but I keep trying to tell him to enjoy it now. He doesn't get it.

What happened to us? Are we old? Was it something about turning 29?
Same boat. It is currently 7:20 am on a Saturday and I'm awake. Wait, 29 is the old people awake in the dark number? Though it is hot as balls in my bedroom and even the dog jumped ship..
  • I have an 11 yo step daughter who sleeps until 10. I'm in for it when LO comes!

I'm already there.   :((  A few weeks ago I managed to sleep until almost 8:30 and felt like I'd slept the day away.  I'm expecting my AARP card to arrive anytime now.

As a super un-funny joke one of my employees signed me up to receive the promotional ads from AARP to my work. So not cool.
