Kate v. Cate

We are set on using Kate/Cate as the middle name if #3 is a girl. Thoughts on the "C" spelling? I know Kate is more traditional but it would be a nod to my sister (Caitlin) so I'd like to use the Cate spelling... but can't decide if it's too you-neek.

I prefer Kate, but I wouldn't side eye Cate, especially side its for your sister

Cate for Caitlin.

Started adoption process in Jan. 2011.
3 failed matches in 2012.
Surprise pregnancy in Aug. 2012.
Precious baby boy "HC" born May 2013.
Began researching EA in 2014.
No longer pursuing EA due to fibroid complications.
Officially on the adoption home study wait list.

What about Cait? For some reason it looks better as a stand-alone to me, and it mirrors your sister's name better. Otherwise, I too prefer Cate.

@julesgilead I've considered that, I've just never seen Cait as a stand alone name before. I think it's a little too original for me.

I agree that either spelling is acceptable. If it's to honor a Caitlin then I'd go with Cate.

B/G Twins born at 33 weeks. 2012: TTC #3, Round 2 of Letrozole w/TI = BFP, missed m/c at 8 1/2 wks. Currently on the bench as we make plans for a new home. Anxious to start TTC #3 within the next year!
