anyone NOT have a schedule yet?

Please tell me we're not the only ones who do not have a schedule down. I totally thought I would be the strict schedule mom, but that went out the window. I guess we have a routine, but definitely not a timely schedule. He eats when he's hungry and naps when he's tired. It seems like that's the question I get these days- "do you have him on a great schedule yet?"... and I'm like "ummm kinda?"

Not really any schedule here. She eats almost every two hours on the dot! An hour after eating she goes down for a 20-30 min nap then she's up for a short time before we do it all over again.

We get up pretty much at the same time every day, and go to bed at the same time. Other than that, he eats when he's hungry, and naps when he's tired. LO is 4 months, BTW.

He usually gets up between 5-6 eats and usually up for about 1.5-2 hours sleeps for about 1.5-2 then wakes again to eat. That's the usual schedule but we have 2 other older children so we are always on the go. So everything gets messed up lol

Bedtime is at 8 and he wakes up between 4 and 5 these days...everything else is a crap shoot depending on his mood and the toddler's noise level.

only thing that is consistent is bedtime which is between 730-8. She does take a morning and afternoon nap which is somewhere between 9am and then 2 pm give or take an hour either way. I learned with my first DD that once you think you have them on a schedule they change it on you:)

My LO is almost 6 months and still isn't on a schedule. She consistently goes to bed between 7:15-8pm (since about 3 months). Lately she will sometimes wake up between 4-5:30 hungry and then go back to sleep until 7-7:30ish. Other times she will sleep until 6-6:30 then be up for the day. She takes a bottle every 3-4 hours but I follow her cues. Has solids for breakfast and dinner. Takes naps (hopefully) every 1.5-2.5 hours.

As PP said, there's been multiple times where I thought maybe we were finally getting a schedule down, but then things changed again.

We do the EASY routine as well. There is not a set schedule but she does things around the same time every day. She's down to sleep between 8-9 and is usually up by 8 every day with at least 1 wake during the night (anywhere from 330-630am).

I just go with her flow. She usually gets up at the same time every day, naps around the same times, and goes to bed within an hour or so of when I'd prefer she'd go to bed. She eats when she's hungry. I feel like it would be too hard to enforce a nap schedule right now with the in-home daycare she's in. I just try to keep her comfortable and happy (within reason, of course).

No set time schedule here, but a very distinct routine. She gets five to six feedings a day (4 oz each) depending on the start time. We always try to put her to bed between 8-9:30pm depending on when the last feeding fits in.

If she sleeps in in the morning until 7:30 (never any later) the feeding routine is 7:30am, 10:30am, 1:30pm, 4:30pm, 7:30am, and then maybe a 2 ouncer at 9:00pm.

If she wakes up earlier (earliest has been 5am) the feeding routine is 5am, 8am, 11am, 2pm, 5pm, 8pm and then to bed we go.

She's luckily been sleeping through the night for a long time now (unbelievably since 2 weeks), but we also don't put her down super early (7ish) like a lot of people recommend.

In between feedings we play, then we nap, then we feed again. I think when we transition to solids we'll start introducing a set bed time (maybe 8pm?) and see how it goes from there...(she's 3 months old right now).

So glad to know we're not alone. So many people out there following baby wise, moms on call, etc. I just let my LO eat when he's hungry. Sometimes it's every 2 or 3 hours... Sometimes 30 min later for a "snack." We definitely have a routine, but no set schedule whatsoever. I follow his cues and he's very happy. He sleeps through the night with the occasional wake up.

I take my cues from my son. We have a semi schedule where he gets up at a certain time everyday for daycare and then usually goes down at a certain time every night otherwise he eats every three hours when he's hungry. For naps I can usually tell when he's getting tired usually about 2 hours after eating he starts rubbing his eyes or getting whiney. I guess we sort of fell into a routine!

We just aren't schedule people, we kind of go with his signs and it works for us and has with our previous three as well.

I do the same thing as you.

I briefly tried to incorporate a more rigid schedule because something I read made me feel like my child would be a disaster if I didn't. That lasted all of two days.

He eats when he's hungry, naps when he's tired and goes to bed within the same hour or so on most nights and he's happy as can be.

I actually like the non-schedule so far. A mommy friend of mine was so nailed down to her schedule she had to plan her life around it, and it seemed a little miserable to me. To each their own, but go with the flow definitely suits our style more.
