Blood Pressure Post Partum

Hi ladies! So I was just curious if any of u you have experienced blood pressure issues post partum. I never had high blood pressure prior to pregnancy and during it was slightly elevated around the 24 week mark which led to tests for pre eclampsia which all came back normal. I did for the rest of my pregnancy have my pressure fluctuate from 125/80 -140/70. As soon as baby was born all my pressure checks at the hospital were completely normal around 118 etc. At all my follow up appt s including my 4 week check on wednesday it was elevated slightly again to 140/82. I have to go back in next week for another pressure check. Just curious if any of you have had this happen. Im wondering if maybe its just the lack of a good nights sleep etc.

  • Stress can take a big toll on your BP. Try adding a little more you time to the schedule and see if it helps. It's hard with a little one but try to take a bubble bath after feeding during LO's normally quiet time of the day. Maybe you can even convince DH to take LO for a morning while you go get a massage or just go for a walk with a cup of coffee. Even if it doesn't help with your BP, it will certainly help with your stress level
