First fever

DD has her first fever. Doc isn't worried. Just some hives and a harmless virus. But I'm worried her fever will get worse while she sleeps. Part of me wants to wake her and check it during the middle of the night but the sane side of me is thinking that isn't necessary.

    When our LO was running high fevers, the after hours emergency line assured us that you don't need to take their temp while sleeping.  The sleep is doing them good so you don't want to wake them.  I asked the nurse "how am I supposed to sleep when she's running this high fever?!" and she assured me that LO would wake up if something was wrong and would cry/let us know.

    So that is what I tell myself when she goes to bed with fevers.  I can't stop from putting my hand on her forehead but I stopped taking her temp in the middle of the night.  Well, that's a lie - when it's been really high, such as above 104, I HAVE run the Exergen across her forehead...but didn't wake her up ;).
