So hubs had door to garage propped open cuz he was out putting air in my tire so I could go to ob appt. 16 month was in kitchen with me while I was tidying up getting ready to go. I started scrubbing a spot on the counter and my little man escaped past me past hubby right into the middle of the street. OMG FAIL. He's fine my heart not so much.

    Oh honey, hugs to you!! You are in no way a bad mom!

    I have a tiny tornado of a two and a half year old. I swear the only reason he sleeps is to dream up new ways to put himself in mortal danger.

    Just try to remember to use these opportunities to discuss safety and give age appropriate explanations for why mommy is totally flipping out :p

    That is scary! Don't feel too terrible, the little buggers are quick. The other day I was around on my front porch straightening up and from around the side of my house I heard DS talking- I drop what I'm doing, waddle around to the side and he has opened the door FOR A STRANGER and was just standing there talking to her. Thank god my dog is super protective and was standing in between them...who knows what would have happened if his 120 lb ass hadn't been steady growling at her. I didn't even address the woman, just started crying about being a shitty mom, picked DS up and walked inside. We alll have shitty mom moments.

    Yikes, that is scary!  That doesn't make you a bad mom at all though! We've all had moments like that...toddlers/little kids are just insane little devils :)

    My son fell down the stairs to our patio when he was 14 months when my husband left the door open. He was fine. It happens. Be easy in each other when you make mistakes.
