I've been pregnant twice before this... Once 13 (almost 14) years ago and once earlier this year (miscarried in July). I have to say, I think I've experienced some of the weirdest 'morning' sickness triggers ever this time around. I've been steadily nauseous all day for several weeks now but sometimes my DH just talking to me causes the sweating, salivating, oh-god-I-might-hurl nauseousness... To the point that I've had to tell him on several occasions that I don't want to talk anymore. Poor guy. He's been so patient with my food requests, too. LOL
On top of that, the smell of my desk (yes, DH, it DOES have a smell) keeps me from getting any work done (I own my own biz and work from home), I had to unplug all of our oil wells from their outlets and put them away just so that I could stand walking in our house, and most days my teenage daughter comes home from dance team with the weirdest non-BO smell that I've never noticed until now... But I have to hold my breath to hug her. The worst, the grocery. Not just one in particular, but ALL OF THEM. I sat outside Whole Foods for 15 minutes the other night trying to convince myself that my new favorite yogurt was worth the trip inside. I never stepped foot outside of my car. The THOUGHT of smelling the grocery makes me gag. And gagging through an entire shopping trip? No fun, in case you haven't tried it!
Would love to hear everyone else's weird nausea triggers!
Re: The Weirdest MS Triggers
Some weird ones:
- my work parking garage
- still water, especially in the cup left out overnight
- DH's pillow
- our leather sectional couch
- teriyaki sauce, but apparently sou sauce is ok
- the Entire kitchen, not too weird but even when it's completely clean
- when I open my prenatals
If I have to get up to pee between 7am-3pm
Our one year old crying next to me before I get out of bed.
If I speak before I'm ready to get out of bed.
And finally strawberries.
- The smell of raw potatoes
- The absolute worst is laundry that sat in the washer just a little bit too long, rewash!
The fridge is the worst. I can't stand the smell of our house, the car, my job. Pretty much everything!
Other triggers include driving, getting up too quickly, vegetables, water, and when I'm really constipated.
Water, fridge, grocery store and our entire home also make me gag. Good times!
Yesterday I found a diaper that DH had left in the car over the weekend and I got a whiff of the most rancid, concentrated urine smell. Blech. That's not so abnormal, but hours later, just thinking about it made me want to vom.
Here's the thing, around 4-5 week pregnant (before I POAS), I felt the scent of Colgate was too strong. Thought it was just the new tube, & switched back to Tom's. I didn't have that gag, UNTIL I went on a trip last weekend & forgot to bring my Tom's toothpaste. That's when I started to gag, & was wondering why
Hope it works for you~~
Dental care is so important while pregnant
Oh and my fridge is clean! I pay for housekeeping to clean our fridge every month and always have.
My sweaty students, being hot, being hungry, being too full, not sitting up strait.
The smell of my dogs paws. We bathe her 1x a week but I might have to scrub those paws in between. They smell like Fritos... Free toes. Lol
Fast food restaurants, deodorant, not brushing my teeth soon enough (still waking up with dd)
(even though I can handle eating most foods) washing dishes, opening the fridge, or having something touch my neck.
It might be partly my imagination, but worrying also seems to increase my queasiness.
