So I'm having a BOY!!

So I found out last week that I was having a boy, and I couldn't be happier, but this is my first so I'm not sure what it's gonna be like. If anyone has some advice I would appreciate hearing it.

    @ExcitedMama2‌ that's great advice and I also wish someone had told me that. My little man peed all over his own face before I learned this little trick haha!

    As far as boy-specific advice...my biggest one (and I wish someone would have told me!) is to make sure to point the penis down after a diaper change...if it is pointed up, he'll pee directly out of the diaper and all over whatever he's wearing/you're wearing/sheets/etc.  

    Otherwise, just love and snuggle on that baby and good luck!  There are probably new parent courses available through your hospital--you might want to check those out as well.
    This, ha ha. DS has a morning wood some days (TMI?), and if I don't point it down when I put on his diaper, it's trouble.

    Otherwise, I can't think of any boy-specific advice. Congrats - DS has brought us so much joy, and we're looking forward to DS2!

    Congratulations! I have a boy, and he is a lot of fun! 

    This is probably more of an old wives' tale rather than legit advice, but I'll pass it along as it has been true in our experience. It seems boys experience gross motor development pretty quickly, and they're slower to develop fine motor skills and communication. So, be ready with the babyproofing. Our DS walked very early, and we weren't ready yet. 

    Obviously, there are tons of exceptions to this. But this OWT described our experience with DS pretty accurately. He still doesn't have the fine motor skills that I see in the girls in his preschool class. And he definitely wasn't in a huge hurry to talk to us either, even when most of the kids in his class were starting to speak more and more.

    Congrats! Looking at my beautiful baby boy right now who is now 3 years old. As for advice he will be who he will be and he will be awesome!

    Thank you all for the advice about the diaper changing, I will definitely make sure that I point it down while changing it. And as for the motor skills and gross factor I'm sure even if I think I'm ready for that, he'll shock me still. I'm excited to have my little one and I can't wait to love on him and the snuggles. Again thank you all. :)

    My firend has two boy and i told her about this and she said that if ur child is not circomsized make sure u clean it well cause it will start smelling nasty
