All of your names are gorgeous but I cast my vote for Cosette because it is the most rarely heard. Beautiful list though, no matter what you choose you will win.
They are all pretty names, I would probably rank them Iris, Vivienne, Genivieve, Cosette. Only by a slight margin though. Cosette falls lowest because of the strong Les Miserables association, not that it is a bad association, just a strong one in my mind and I tend to stear away from strong associations with names.
Genevieve! I agree with llambrose about the really strong Les Mis association, but I'm kind of obsessed with the book. In fact, Cosette is my cat's name.
I have a Cosette, most people say "oh, like Les Mis", I say yes but that's not where I first heard it and we move on I obviously think is beautiful but you can't go wrong with any of the four.
Iris is absolutely gorgeous, and has lovely associations. The only problem is I can never decide whether I like the ee-ris or eye-ris pronunciations better. Which are you planning to use? As a side note, does anyone know if there's a "correct" version?
I think Vivienne and Genevieve are a little bit too frilly and French for my taste, but they're not awful. I prefer Genevieve. With Vivienne, I always find myself thinking it's just a pretentious version of Vivian.
Cosette is very pretty. Yeah, it's French too, but it's simpler and more in tune with my tastes. It is a little heavily associated with Les Mis, though, but that doesn't have to be a bad thing and the character is a good one.
