The "where are you from" post had me thinking more about everyone and i'm curious... what do you all do for work? Do you love your job? Is it what you want to do forever?
I'll start.
I'm a Registered Nurse on a short term rehabilitation unit. I've been there for just about 3 years and i'm in love. Some days I hate it, depending on the patients that I have... some patients/families can just be plain ol' assholes, no matter how hard you try and no matter how great of a job you do taking care of them. But lately, I've been getting the most wonderful people as my patients and they have all made it so enjoyable to take care of. I love taking care of people. I love the every day challenge that my job brings. I love the place and people I work with. I work with an AWESOME group of nurses and CNAs.
Your turn! :-)

Right out of college, I was an actuary. I did that for three years (met DH at work!), then quit to go to grad school for teaching secondary math. I was an upper school math teacher for another three years, and now stay at home with my 14 month old DD. I still do some tutoring and editing math books on the side.
Mom to three girls and pregnant with #4! L: 7/12/13 C: 5/11/15 E: 3/7/17 Due 11/10/18
I am a project manager. I love my job and I will probably do it for a long time. Right now I PM for a team of business analysts. After I get my B.S. in Marketing I want to PM for marketing teams.
was a junior accountant really did not like the place where I worked so I decided to be stay at home mom 3 1/2 years. I love some days harder than others but I love it.
Well, I don't work a regular "job" or even necessarily a career. I'm a Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor. I can teach about any type of class these days (So much for my Marketing and MBA degrees).
Aside from that I'm a SAHM and volunteer extraordinaire. I am a national volunteer for my Sorority where I do leadership development, coaching and crisis prevention/management for 4 of our chapters. I also volunteer for a local Children's Charity that fundraises all year long for a family with a child suffering from a cancer or other challenging disease. This year I volunteered at the golf tournament and will be assisting the silent auction for the main event in a couple of weeks. I also plan several fundraisers throughout the year for a variety of causes...mostly Zumbathons!
I definitely get to do what I love and LOVE what I do!
I work in television news.I started off as a production assistant then producer, photographer, reporter, radio anchor, and now I'm in management. I run our station's website, cell phone apps, social media pages, and I help run the newsroom.

I'm a hotel controller. I like it but I'm not sure if I'll continue to work once #2 arrives. I like the HR aspect of my job most, we have some great employees and it is great to work with them.
I have my Masters Degree in Accounting but currently do not work. My husband is in the Air Force and we just moved a few weeks ago. Hopefully I can find something here. If not, I will do the SAHM thing for awhile.
I was an accountant a couple years ago but the hours were way too long so I quit to be a SAHM... last year I taught some University Accounting courses but this year with 2 kiddos I decided just to focus on staying at home with them.

I work in advertising at an agency. Although I work in the media department, so it's not all the artsy/creative part people think of - just the dorky numbers/excel part. Like Harry on Mad Men, but less creepy. But there is lots of booze, just like Mad Men. I'm going to have to start giving away my liquor stash at the office before they figure out I'm pregnant.

Currently I'm a SAHM to my 2 girls and I teach spin at LA fit, I also teach and TA for a Master's program online for a university for Exercise science. I have a B.S. in Ex.Sci and a M.Ed in Higher and Post Secondary Education
Prior to staying home I was a division 1 strength coach and worked with swimming, diving, water polo, women's golf , gymnastics and football
I've done some doula-ing and plan to do more, as well as get my RN and then become a CNM. But that's a long term plan

My masters is in Art Therapy. I took about 18 months off after my daughter was born and now I'm working in Child Life at a children's hospital. I enjoy it but I miss the long term relationships I had with clients and families in my previous job.
I'm a customer service specialist (sales and accounting) for an international company. There are only 3 people in my office though. DH'S family owns a dairy so some of my days are spent on the farm.
I'm a nanny, but I will be leaving before baby is born. I love the kids, but there is a lot of my job that involves more than just the kids, and that's the part of it that is really wearing on me after ~5 years with them now.
Starting 2015, I'll be taking a 2 year break from paid work to become a student again! I'm going to be starting nursing school. After that I'd eventually like to become a midwife or an NP specializing in women's health.
I'm a nurse on a med/surg floor. I love what I do. I used to be a journalist, but went back to school five years ago and got my nursing degree. Never regretted it once!

I work part-time as a Registered Nurse in Mother/Baby. I'm going to start cross-training in our lactation department next month and hope to start working toward IBCLC.
I love being a nurse, but I spend a lot of time thinking about trying something new. Though I do really enjoy what I do, and I'm very lucky to work at the hospital I'm at!
I am a reading specialist. I teach 6th and 7th graders. Most days I love my job. The grading and dealing with parents is not as fun and sometimes exhausting!
I'm a kindergarten teacher. Most of the time I love what I do... I love that every day is different and that I get to see such amazing growth in just one year. Some years are tougher than others depending on the group of students I have. So far my group this year seems great! I also like that I get to experience a taste of being a SAHM during the summer (if I could I would do that full time). Someday I'd also like to write children's books... I'm toying with an idea for my first story right now actually.
@vballgirl78 Your ticker for your daughter keeps tripping me out. My daughter is Addi (short for Addison) and was born on January 19, 2012. Our tickers look almost identical!
I'm a kindergarten teacher. Most days I love my job but I feel like I miss out on so much time with my son. I'm resigning after this baby and will be a SAHM. My class is SUPER cute this year so it will be a bittersweet ending.

Funny! I'm on my phone so I'll have to check out your ticker another time. My Addy is also short for Addison. She was born on Jan. 16, 2012.
I'm an attorney and was formerly a juvenile public defender in Baltimore City. I have been at my current job as Director of Government Relations and Public Policy at a local university. I wear many different hate and keep busy. My boss is a great mentor for me and I can learn a lot from her. I love my current job and could see myself staying there. It was such a nice change from the PD's office.
I teach community education classes for the University of Florida. I love teaching and my actual classes but not so much the admin bullsh that comes along with it sometimes . I do some contract work in curriculum design. I'm thinking that I will probably try to do more of that when the baby comes. I don't want to be working as many evenings then as I do now.
I am a camera operator for a news helicopter. I love love love my job. I love the people I work with, I love the station I work for (#1 in Philly!) and I am well respected in the business.
However. I alternate a week of day shifts and a week of night shifts, and I just don't want to do that anymore- it's rough with one kid at home, I really don't want to do it with two kids. So I got my real estate license in April, I am working to get this real estate career off the ground by May 6, 2015, so I don't have to go back after maternity leave.
Edit: also, I have to work all holidays. I'm kind of over that too.
Hi! I'm currently a RN working in the emergency room. I've always worked in the ER and I love it! It's fast paced and a lot of work (esp. when pregnant) but I would change it for the world. Also, I'm looking into becoming a PA I'm the future once I get some more time and focus.
I am a former high school Spanish teacher! I loved it and worked hard for my Masters in Spanish, so I assume I will go back to it at some point. I'd love to get my PHD and be a professor.
Right now I'm a SAHM/dance instructor/substitute teacher. It's awesome.
In my old life I worked as a Production Designer for a children's book publisher. Aside from the salary - you don't get into publishing, at least not in Canada, for the money - It was pretty much my dream job! Kids' books is a great field, and I loved my co-workers which always helps.
When I first moved to the States I wasn't allowed to work, and then once I got my green card things just kept happening... without me getting WAY long-winded, let's just say that me getting a job wasn't the top priority (though I am always on the lookout for design gigs to do on the side). Well that, and we wanted to start working on a family, and maternity leaves here are a total joke - it just didn't make sense for me to look for a "career" job only to turn around and leave as soon as I got knocked up. In retrospect maybe I could have found some crappy job to tide me over, but we're not in dire financial straits and I don't get bored all that easily so it's all good. Just prior to my move I was also coming off of a few HIGHLY stressful and emotional years, so it's been a blessing to have the time to decompress and work through some things.
The long-range plan is for me to do the SAHM thing until we have kids in school and then I'll find another real grown-up job. Hopefully this all happens before I'm 40, hahaha!
My title is Team Leader, which say just about nothing about my job. I have a degree in Communications (Journalism) and work for a publishing company. I started out as an associate copy editor (basically, what I wanted to do), but the job is so much more. As a team leader, I do everything I have always done in my 13 years at this job, but I also am a supervisor and do a lot of admin crap that comes with running a team of people. We publish manuals for CPA and are a part of a very big international corporation.
Like I said, I've been at my job for 13 years, in my position as team leader for a little over 4. I recently began working 100% remotely when they closed our local office and moved us to an office over an hour and half away. We were given the opportunity to work from home, so I do. DS stays home with me, as will the new baby. It is stressful and a juggling act, but it has also been a blessing. (And my bosses not only know about the setup, but fully support it.)

Another kindergarten teacher here. I love what I do, and can't get enough of the funny things that the kids say. They learn so much. It's quite an amazing year.
@udubermin- we have the same issue with my company; I am one of 3 females nationwide in the company. We have NO maternity leave. We don't even technically fall under FMLA.
With my son I worked till I was 38 weeks, and then it was just too much to climb in and out of the chopper multiple times a day. So I took two weeks vacation, gave birth at 40w 3d and had six weeks unpaid until I went back to work.
