I'll start. I checked out the larry thread to see what the fuss was about. I read about 8 pages. People were saying things like "this is the greatest thread ever" and "my life is changed". I get that some people like/love 1D but my opinions are 1. the thread was not all that and NO WAY was I going to keep reading. 2. There are some people that seriously should look at their life. If a thread about Larry changes your life and is the greatest story ever told you REALLY need to back away from the Bump.

I assume this will be an unpopular opinion.

@sweett11‌ where do you live that you love winter?

I am not a fan of winter. But when I really think about it I think if it wasn't necessary to drive in bad weather in the winter I would like it. I like how it looks. And the crisp air. I just hate having to drive or think about driving in the snow and ice and freezing temperatures to visit family or friends from out of town. It's like 4 months of stress driving!

@sweett11‌ I'm in Canada. And a lot of people who snowmobile or snowboard/ski or ice fish or play hockey love winter. Lol. I don't do any of that though.

I grew up in Michigan. The year after i graduated from college it snowed in November and then in may and all the months in between. I could not stand it. snow is pretty to look at for a few minutes but driving in, walking in it, how dirty it looks after a day. sooooooo over it. I lived in Seattle for 16 years and it would snow about once a year. the city would shut down for 2 days and then it would be gone. i could handle that. but the thought of enduring another michigan winter kills me. especially if it is one like last winter. My mom said they didnt see their grass for 5 months. argh...shoot me now.

I hate everything about winter! I can see leaves falling off the trees out the window and it's giving me anxiety. I honestly don't know how much longer I can stand CT winters.

My UO I think it's weird for an adult to be completely obsessed with something. I have a friend over the top obsessed with Disney. I get that you can really like it but everything is Disney for her. She even posts random Disney posts on FB all the time. I think it's unhealthy.

My IL's MUST buy ALL THE GIFTS. They did ask me for ideas, so I am asking for gift certificates to My Gym and the baby swim school. Hopefully, they will like those ideas!

Not having a fall or winter is the #1 thing I hate about living in Florida. It's really hard to get in to the holiday spirit when it's 80-something degrees. I have lived here since I was 12 and I still hate it. I love my flip-flops but it would be nice to be able to wear cute boots and sweaters for more than 1 or 2 days a year. Of course, when I lived up north I was young and didn't have to deal with driving in ice and snow so that may have something to do with me not hating it.

I feel very similar. I lost a bunch of weight before getting pregnant and was the thinnest I had ever been. But I still had a belly. I could be 100 lbs and still wouldn't have a flat stomach - it's just not how I'm built. So when I had the pregnant belly, I finally had a wonderful reason to have a big belly and I loved it!

Ok so I went over to parenting to see what all the fuss was about. I've commented on a few threads. My UO is that I don't see what all the fuss is about. They are cool I guess but I don't see much over there in the way of life betteringness.

I agree. I will probably continue to post there. I just don't get the "cool kids" comments. They just seem like regular bumpies who have been around. Like most of the regs here, just more active than this board.

I'm with you ladies who love winter. We do lots of outdoor activities in the snow, CANADA, EH - so I enjoy it!
Only downfall this year is my worry about the fireplace and LO.
BUT yes, driving in the winter sucks. Have you guys seen the show "highway through hell"? I have to drive that road every 2 moths.

I don't do this things either. I like the snow, how it looks, the crisp air, the cozy clothes I get to wear, how all the bugs die, snuggling by a fire (super excited that our new house had a fireplace).

I'll give you the bugs dying part. And the clothes. I do like winter clothes better. But I hate that going somewhere or walking somewhere is an ordeal. The streets are always ice packed and the sidewalks in residential areas are never cleaned. It sucks. And I hate that we normally get snow in October (some places already have it!!

) and then don't see grass again until end of march/April. This year we had a snow storm on Easter! Longest winter ever... 7 months of snow is brutal. The beginning of winter is always like "oh ya. This is beautiful" but come March I want some melting to happen!

I did an intro. They usually will ask questions like how you feel about shopping carts, ID, Benny, cilntro, etc...

I enjoy the Parenting board. But it moves too fast for me. i like posting there for the variety of opinions and often there is a poster of someones life story which is entertaining. I lurk there a lot.

My DD found a mistake in her kindy worksheet. you are supposed to glue the number 6 by the six items , there are no six items. instead 2 fives. she is all is a tizzy. wants me to alert the teacher. I do not think that is a good idea. instead i had her write 5 next to the other number 5. I am seeing my DD is more intense than i thought( I am super intense). this gives me the sads. I like when she is more chill, like her dad.

It's the worst!!! Where do you live in Canada. That sounds like our winters. I'm in south east Saskatchewan.

@ameegee‌ ya you guys are pretty close to us! By the end of winter I always think "why do I live here?" And then our summers get so hot I forget about the hatred. Lol
