Is your LO clingy?

DD is 9 months old now and has been super clingy. She always wants to be held and is super irritable. She's been teething but I know it's just the age too. Any advice on how to handle it?

Re: Is your LO clingy?

  • Luckily, no.  Sometimes when he's tired, he wants to be held, but anyone will do--it doesn't have to be me or DH.

  • Anja isn't necessarily clingy but she always wants someone to hold her. If we put her in her walker, tears. Hell, sometimes, she cries when H hands her to me lol...not every time but when she's hungry, she cries for him.
  • LO has been going to the gym day care since she was 4 weeks old and they kicked her out last week because she wouldn't let them put her down. She also started crying hysterically when DH drops her off at his sisters house when we both work.
  • Yep but it's nothing new. She has always been super clingy just now she is mobile so she follows me around screaming for me to pick her up.

    Kicked her out?!?!  :(
Well made me take her, they said they can only hold her for 15 minutes, every time they tried putting her down she cried. Today she lasted 30. She used to let me work out for 1 1/2 hours.
  • My LO can be clingy. It's either mysel or my mom that has to be holding her, anyone else she will scream. Whenever she just won't stop grabbing at me I will put her down and let her freak out for a few minutes and she will go off and play.

  • Yes, very clingy! Lately I can't get anything done because she won't let me put her down. I just go with it because they grow so quickly. One day she won't want me to hold her anymore.

  • Yup..he cries for me at ALL times. He will be happy as can be if I am in the room but look out if I have to go to the bathroom or just stand up, instant hissy fit. He now completes it with "Mamamama" and once he is handed to me laughs like nothing happened. I am just going with it, I feel like I don't see him much anyways with work so I soak in any amount of time I can.
  • Yep! While he still plays independently he is wanting me to pick him up a lot more than before. He often crawls to me and pulls up on my legs and sticks his head between my legs and bounces. Wanting me to pick him up. When I do, he's happy! It's often when I'm cooking so I'm not paying direct attention to him lol.
