We are booked on a cruise for March with my two little guys. We are going with my whole family. We brought DS1 with us this past March and he loved it. Most people are like "You are bringing baby on a cruise! Oh my!" Um yep. Someone will be there to cook and clean for us. It will be cruise #7 so we don't mind if we miss shows at night and baby won't be walking so no worries there. So basically it's unpopular to take a baby on a cruise. Oh well, we love it and are familiar with it!
I think it's unpopular to take babies anywhere. I took DS to a vineyard and got plenty of mixed reactions. It was basically either judgey weird looks or good for you looks.
I noticed this. We got a "good for you" from someone when we took her out at 5 days old
@belle785 we are booked on a cruise in May. Just the four of us so we won't have help (our families either can't or don't want to go).
This will be DD1's 3rd cruise, DD2's first. We actually find cruising to be the easier way to travel with babies and young children. And we take advantage of the onboard nursery. We love it too!
Went out to lunch with a friend and wanted to try this tavern in a trendier part of downtown. I know it's 21 over but it was a week day and lunch and we were sitting on the patio. Waitress says "it's 21 and over" and I pleaded "but he's just a baby". The waitress said "is he 21?"........ No bitch he's a baby. I was just trying to get lunch with a friend and LO is not even two weeks old. Bars should let babies sit outside on weekdays for lunch. Waitresses should not be bitchy.
We're headed to Napa today, bringing LO who is 6 weeks. We're obviously going to be careful with her and are only planning on going to two wineries and lunch but I'm already worried about getting judged. I have had a glass of wine on occasion while bfing, I follow the "if you're sober enough to drive, then your are sober enough to bf" motto, but I know a lot of people don't.

We took DD1 to Sonoma when she was 5 months old. Went to several wineries and she tagged along in her stroller. I was surprised how welcoming everyone at the wineries were. Have a great time!
My UO: This board is boring! FB stole a lot of regulars and things have been slow lately. I know we are all busy with babies but I miss how it used to be. We can't even get our UO and FFFC posts beyond one page these days. Remember the days of the bj posts? Now our biggest drama is "I co-sleep." Boring people. Boring.

Where are you headed? We are just going to the Bahamas on Royal Caribbean Enchantment of the Seas. This will be our smallest ship that we have been on lately. Our last two cruises were the Oasis and Freedom of the Seas.
We are doing the western Caribbean on navigator of the seas. Our last one was on freedom of the seas. Loved that ship. We are actually doing the same ports on navigator as we did on freedom (minus labadee) because we wanted to go back to familiar places because it's easier with the kids and we already know what to do.
Compared to my regular life...this newborn thing is a cakewalk. If only mobile bumping didn't suck so bad. Hard to participate when the app crashes every five minutes
I mobile bump, but I don't use the app I just use safari. Have you tried that? It doesn't give me too many problems. Sounds like the app sucks and pisses a lot of people off.
@YoginiKiki Some people say introducing pacifiers before 3-4 weeks can interfere with breastfeeding. Maybe that is true for some people; I ended up trying it right away and DS to this day he still doesn't take it very well. He has always nursed like a champ though. He prefers to use me as a paci.

Everyone always complains about the app, but I've been using it (iPhone) since December and haven't had many problems. I think I've used TB on the computer MAYBE 3 times. I don't understand what the hate is about...

I've heard that many times but never actually talked to anyone IRL or on TB that actually had a problem. I think it's a myth.
I use chrome on my phone, never have any problems.what is frustrating us that I can't bump from my kindle. There is no app for it, to my knowledge, and it won't let me type, only read, on my browser.
About the pacifiers...I actually read somewhere that it's not that the baby stops wanting the nipple, it's just that there's a correlation between early pacifier use and early weaning from BF.

@YoginiKiki I gave DS a pacifier day two and he takes it and latches on fine. Idk why it's such a big deal to give them the paci either. It's soothes him and gives me a few seconds to get situated before feeding him.

I find not letting babies in bars completely random and weird, because where I grew up, it's totally normal to see pregnant women and kids in bars. Actually, bars usually have the best food.

But maybe that's because I grew up in Wisconsin.
This! Went to the bar to eat all the time as a kid, and then when we would go on vacation and couldn't go in to eat somewhere it was totally weird. It must be a Wisconsin thing, but come on, its not like the kids are drinking, you are there for food.

I grew up in MI and it was the same way. There was a local bar that had the best food and we went there all the time! I think after 11 they stopped serving food and you had to be 21, but that makes sense at least! Now I live in Vegas and it's another world! I can't even go into the liquor store with LO because he's under 21. Yup this bottle of red is totally for him!
My UO is I can't wait to go back to work next week. I have so much mad respect for SAHM because oh my gosh it is hard and I can't do it! I love DS to bits, but I'm tired of my days be soley dictated by his needs. I'm sure if he was older and we could do stuff it would be different, but this screaming all day unless eating or being held makes my 40-60 hour week look easy!

I don't like maternity leave. It's lonely and boring. I make a lot of plans and get out a lot, see people, etc. ... if i didn't I'd go totally stir crazy. Love DD but man this is tough.
I keep telling my SO I'd switch with him if I could, so he'd stay home with LO while I go back to work. I wish I could do part time at my job. That would be a good compromise. Gets me a break from LO but not to the overwhelming degree of working F/T.

My UO - It FN sucks to be a food source for another living being, whether it's a mosquito, a lion, a cannibal, or a baby.
If it wasn't for that respiratory illness going around, I would stop EPing and FF but now I want LO to have all the antibodies I can provide him.
