City Select stroller question.

I am currently 17 weeks pregnant with baby number 2. My daughter Lyla will be 18 months when baby is born (exhausting to think about!). After much deliberation hubby and I decided to buy a City Select because we love that it can be used as a single or double. We also bought an adaptor for our car seat. My question is, can I get away with just buying the second seat adaptor for right now? Will the adaptor and the seat that comes with the stroller work with a car seat OR do I need to buy the second seat kit? Would like to hold off buying the second seat until needed but obviously will need it to work as a double for Lyla. Any thoughts or help is appreciated!

It's been 1.5yr since I bought mine but I couldn't find anywhere to buy just the adaptor for the second seat. I think they purposely sell it only with the second seat.

Okay. I just went to the website and saw it. I swear it wasn't available 18 months ago.

I don't think just the seat adaptor was available 18 months ago, but baby jogger does show the infant pod and a single seat as one of the combinations, so I would think it's fine.

I bought the seat kit because I was afraid it wouldn't be offered for the model I have by the time I was ready for it.
